IBS can be caused by a combination of various foods, stress, drinking fluids too fast, etc.
It's a guess sometimes for me.
Shit just happens.

The pain is unbearable as you say.
It always hits me in my lower back and my kidneys ache like a mofo.
Feels like immense lower back pain accompanied by sever stomach aches.

The pills work really well and generally take the pain away in 30 minutes.
Except in extreme conditions.

It sucks big time.

I haven't had issues for years though.
Not sure why.
I always have some colofac around just in case.
