Didn't expect anyone to reply so sorry for the late reply back.Earjax wrote:A couple things that stand out to me in this synth, obviously there's a lot of unison going on somehow so your going to have to experiment with a few ways of creating that. Secondly its definitely saw based which you already know. I can also hear a synth underneath which sounds like some sort of sine wave.Cubicle wrote:Hey guys, anyone have a clue how to make the synth that comes in at 1:01.
I'm getting close but I can't get that natural feel to it, mine just sounds like a poor attempt with some saws.
Thanks!
With all these types of synths theres usually a sort of chord within your soft synth, this sounds like a fifth to me, so in your soft synth change one oscillator to plus or minus seven semitones.
Play about with the pulse saw oscillators if you're in massive, they are usually good for this sort of sound.
Again if you're in massive, go to the voicing section put sort of four unison on maybe, and then on the pitch cutoff tab, make it full, change it to chord, and change the one to a seven, this gives a great natural sounding unison without the cheesy pitch cutoff sound.
Other than that, you won't need much intensity on your oscillators, put a lowpass on it, maybe mixed with a bandpass, and use some small reverb and dimension expander to give it some dynamics.
I've gotten pretty close with these methods, if you want to add a bit more grit for more of a 'purple' sound, then layer it with a sine and a saw with some distortion on them. Hope this helps! should give you some ideas at least and will definitely give you a similar sound. I can post a patch I've made if you're really stuck.

I understand that he either bounced down 2 versions to audio, or he used a performer. Please help. I don't necessarily want to make the exact bass, I just want to know how he did it, because when I use a performer, and throw on a triangle wave in the perf., it goes too high.
You know, the funny thing is that I have been trying to make Getter sig patch for 2 weeks now and I still can't make the sound. You can make the majority of his synths from Freq Skank just from crude alone, but you need to add a formant layer to accentuate the vocally freq ranges.hubsahubsa wrote:sofarmusic wrote:NINJA EDIT: Getter's Fallout bass. 100% NI Massive (other than the probable EQing). it is 100% massive with no resampling/freq splitting
some tips
crude wavetable bend -/+
modulation osc phase on it
double notch & bandreject filter
tube distortion
tonal delay
figure out the modulating etc yourself
I have pretty much recreated like 90% of his sounds almost exactly, only things i modulate is bandreject filter cutoff (2 bandreject filters=great vowels), double notch filter cutoff, phase amount, wavetable intensity, distortion drive amount and amp, nothing fancyIamDroid wrote:You know, the funny thing is that I have been trying to make Getter sig patch for 2 weeks now and I still can't make the sound. But, does anyone have an idea how I can get the Aeiih Vowel sound from Getter's track, it comes in at 55 and plays at the first of ever other bar after that.
I have the entire sound already, but I can't get the modulation down. I ive tried: Automating the two filters, using a HP filter, Osc WT and Amp, EQ Modulation (Within massive, so automating the High, Freq, and ammount) And I still can't manage to get that sound. I've come fairly close to it, but the sound is muddy as shit. Getter makes the vowel sound souley inside of massive, not filtering or EQ work outside of it.
In massive, sine wave @ +24 semitones in osc 1, and sine wave @ -24 semitones in osc 2. Parabolic shaper with 100% on both knobs. Scream filter with cutoff all the way up, like 1/4 scream and resonance. Some tube disto, dimension expander yadayada, and an LFO on either a lowpass filter or volume, whatever you want reallyvault wrote:
I'm looking into this sound at 0:28 , it's after the growl, the lfo lead. I tried the triangle with Parabolic Shaper full dry/wet, but it's still not the sound I'm looking for :-/
Also, it can be found on Noisestorm's - Together.

It's exactly the same as the one in the first clip. Maybe a tiny bit of eq or reverb, but other than that pretty much the samevault wrote:blinkesko wrote:In massive, sine wave @ +24 semitones in osc 1, and sine wave @ -24 semitones in osc 2. Haha yeah, I already knew about this bass, typical circus records, eptic etc, but I don't think it's really the same, hehe.
