This will happen soon and we will put a post on the site to let people know when we have the replacements. Deep Medi will have to get plate 3 re-mastered, which will take up to 3 weeks.

It has been established there is a fault with the third record (sides E & F). This individual record will be repressed with new masters and stampers. We expect this repress to take approx 3-4 weeks.

All retail customers will be supplied with their quota of replacement third records.

All customers that have bought a copy of “City Limits Volume 1 – Silkie – Deep Medi Musik (medilp002)” please contact your shop, they will in turn supply you a replacement record as soon as it is available.

The sale of record has been put on hold until the repress becomes available. Once repressed, new copies of this title will be sold with the replacement record in addition to the faulty record.

Sorry for any incovenience caused. Thanks for your patience.
Fair enough, thanks for that...sounds reasonable. However, on my (and I know a lot of other people's) copy, it's not just the third disc that sounds wank but the whole lot. the sound quality of the whole album is such that I could never play any of the tunes in a set because they'd stick out quite obviously and on a big system would just sound terrible. Is there anything that can be done about that?
its blatantly not just the third record!!! (i think saying that is a bit of a piss take to be honest)
Out of all of it i'd say that turvy is the worst, and thats on the second plate.

I wouldnt advise that, wait until theres any news on the cd front, the bass on nearly all the tracks sounds horrible.

so what can we do if all three of our plates sound bad?!!

the store i got this from doesnt seem interested in me returning this, rather i wait for the repress- but how will this help if all of the vinyl on the pack are affected-not just the 3rd one

its just sat there unplayed since i got it, great way to spend £15, and i know its a great album, but i dont agree with some people that the soloution is just to buy the cd?

Indeed, i don't want to sound ungrateful, as I can only imagine how much hassle this has caused everyone involved with the record, but I would all 3 vinyls to sound like they should.

Still not sure what the process is on getting a replacement. If I send back my album, will they send my copy back with another 3rd disc in it ?

saw Silkie at BM today and he said that his share in the money won't change but he's just fucked off that people won't get to hear his music or won't want to buy it because its bad sound quality. poor guy.

Bit of a cop out from ST Holdings really. Every track on my copy sounds poor.

i mean the sound quality is bad, im not going to argue that, but all these ppl moaning that it's completely unplayable are being a bit ridiculous. there's a bit of fuzz & crackle...so what...turn up the eq on the lower end and roll off the top...

(is a bit of a "piss take" that st is only repressing the third disc when they all have problems tho...)

Uhh dude, its pretty clear that the quality is variable from copy to copy, some people said its all sweet..some people have said its all dirt and some people only have a couple tracks that are low quality. So I think you would be wrong to assume that everyones copy can be fixed by eqing, just because yours isnt too bad.
Plus, should anyone really have to fork out that kind of money to get some low quality business that we have to eq..when deep medi is renowned for high sound quality in any other instance.

This shit cost me the equivalent of 27 pounds...

Hello all,

Due to the nature of this issue, it's taking a good minute to get to the root of it.

Please understand that its not just 1 person involved in the recording/manufacturing/distribution process.

We are 100% aware of the situation, everyone involved is communicating and we will keep you posted as and when. (we are on it!)

You know this isn't my standard, and trust me i am more gutted than anyone. To be honest its been one of those months! unexpected madness.

Thanks for your patience.

Massive respect for keeping us updated, sorry to hear its been one of those months, hope everything goes smoothly from now on and a solution is found.

Thorough investigations established that there was fault with plate 3, hence our statement proposing a solution. Due to comments about the other 2 plates all parties concerned will reinvestgate the complete manufacture process (mix down, mastering, lacquers, galvanic development, TP pressing).

Once the facts have been established as to what has caused these problems we can start working on a solution.

Anyone who is unahppy with their copy please return it to your retailer and ask for a refund.

It is no one's intention to 'take the piss'.
