1. just wanted to express my oppinion. gantz's shuffled drum patterns were a nice change, but I feel like they've been overused. nobody needs to agree with me here.
2. english is my third language. let's have the same conversation in french and german once so I may find myself in the position to point out your stilistic failures. I realise my english is far from being perfect (or even good), but I think most people understand what I'm trying to say. It'd be nice if you could make an effort aswell and be decent about my obvious weaknesses.

i dont see how more shuffley beats in dubstep is a bad thing, as long as it doesnt get "future garage". i wouldnt say its overused at all

i mean... gantz biting is not legit... but it is so obvious, his style is unique its impossible not to hear a gantz impersonation.

eh mahdy jr has a kinda similar style with some of his drums, but thats understandable since theyve produced stuff together & got dat turkish connection

Could you ever hone in or completely ignore one sound within many? Like having tunnel vision and blocking everything else out entirely?

For example...
You're sitting in a park. There are a multitude of sound events taking place. But, you hone in on the sound of one persons footsteps and cannot hear anything else at all.


That'd take an incredible amount of brain power.

I was poking more fun at the fact when a producer comes out with a 'new' style, most people just instantly want more. And then all of a sudden something different, when that 'sound' gets 'played out'. The producers are just normal-ish blokes. Not progressive art machines.

Just annoys me, all of our society seems to have a fetish for 'progression' which results in never appreciating the 'now'. Always looking forward, but never being happy, and thinking the past was better when you get into the 'future'.

Your English is fine man, and I didnt mean to try to pick it apart or anything. Big up to you for knowing several languages. I barely know English myself and its my first language.

sorry I got a bit upset; took it the wrong way.

Nah Gantz is fine and he shall continue doing what he enjoys most. I like almost all of his beats and everything, but shit tends to get boring once producers try to mimick eachother instead of focusing on their individual strenghts. And I feel like the latter part's what made dubstep a bit exciting again in the last couple of months - different producers with different styles, innit. Look at Thelem for example; went from being another dungeon copycat (lol sorry) on to finding his own style and crushing dances with it. Shuffled drumwork is fine and all, but maybe some guys need to find their own style of doing it (like Ramadanman back when) instead of biting Gantz.
