Re: ZOMBY
He said on twitter they over sold so they repressed it and stocked a shit load more therefore had to send out a load a day early. So a lot of people got theirs today, apparently someone in his apartment block got one.
How much of that is true is anyones guess. Seems plausable (until someone in his appartment block bit).

Re: ZOMBY
Got mine today! I live in NY so maybe it's the States that get it first?
Really weird, but when I imported it all the songs came out at different quality i.e. one at 1040, another at 992, another at 852... not sure if that's me being useless with my laptop or the CD itself?

Re: ZOMBY
Nah... doesn't seem to be any pattern really. The best quality is over 3 mins, and the next best is 1:30. Weird

Re: ZOMBY
Ok, so now that I've heard the whole thing, I must say there's way too much superfluous material here.
As I said, there's some great material here imho, but one or two beefy EP's (or a single CD/LP) could have covered this thing, especially since they're not really tracks for the most part. Rather, most pieces are looped experiments with drums here or there. And then there are some melodic tracks.
Also, Zomby doesn't do ANYTHING new on here, so those expecting a different sound or something, nope: still the same since 2006.
Let's say we make two EP's out of the two cd's:
EP1:
- As Darkness Falls
- Ascension
- Horrid
- Memories
- Overdose
- This One
- Vanishment
EP2:
- Shiva
- Soliloquy
- Sunshine In November
- Vast Emptiness
- With Love
This more than would have covered it. Especially the second disc is full of unnecessary filler (I could actually scrap two more tracks tbh).

Bit gutted theres no gunshots.
I listened to the album then played "She Loves Me" & "She Loves Me Not". Not advised, quickly became depressed at the quality of the album. Still a good album though, certainly not a bad album... underwhelming and repetitive would best describe it.

Re: ZOMBY
Surprised there are tunes on this album I'll be more than happy to work in my dj sets. 777, Overdose, It's Time and especially VI-XI. Love how it implies a build up with its high pitched synth but never really leads to any drop.

Re: ZOMBY
My thoughts on it are in general it has so much potential, but it got wasted on him using the same beats and even drum samples. The textures and melodies are great (but like joeki said, it's not too much different from what he usually does. And yeah, the artwork is sick, I would happily buy the LP cover without the vinyl aha) The 2nd CD is particular is almost entirely 'trap' or whatever you wanna call it. If he had made a few of them with the same chords etc but changed the drums, I think it would be a lot less repetitive.
Although the that VI-XI song, it's good but the whole build up to nothing thing aggravated me, especially after hearing that tune 'Originallll' being played last year on Skream and Benga, which is basically a variation of this. I was waiting for it to kind of 'drop' or merge into that song. If it had that would have been a favourite for me.
Highlights:
As Darkness Falls
Horrid
If I Will
Memories
VxV
Glass Ocean
Pyrex Nights
Quickening
Soliloquy
White Smoke
With Love
