imo he's like a west coast timbland, in the way that he is original but at the same time pretty commercial sounding. It's more just little beats than huge productions though.

i like that better than the other tunes i've heard and i do have time for rack city

but timbaland's beats sounded like complex and skilled this is str8 up casio keyboard

if he was doing something crazyily new i could say fair enough but this seems like the hip hop style that's been big for time

sure, he's not a genious like timbo or anything. But LA has taken tiiiiiime to get to a point where you didn't need one of snoop or dres cousins on a track. He's opening up that territory and in that sence it's a bit like timbaland. plus it's pretty commercial and both rnb and rappy.
