To think he'd treat Arsenal any differently isn't based in any kind of reality... even if half the Arsenal fans accept him, they'll hate him by the end of his time at the club.

He should be blacklisted from football.

Or should that be n-wordlisted.
I'm going to agree with you to a point. Not about the racism but we've done that.

What I am going to agree with you on is that our lack of principles as fans has contributed to the game some of us love being ever more detached from us. The money the marketing the blanket coverage the football administrators that now get in the papers we've allowed this to happen and I actually think it's a decent position to take when you put morality above your football club.

You may consider me a hypocrit fwiw for putting my football club above my morals though I'll contend I didn't.
I think it's probably a minor hypocrisy in the scheme of things!

If he stays at Liverpool after all this, do you think the fans will still embrace him? Surely eventually he has to simply outstay his welcome, no matter how well he plays?

Seems like just flicking through his Wikipedia page (he's been in conflict with club management since the first professional club he was ever linked with) should be enough for any manager to say "Nah, I think we'll look elsewhere."

I don't know is the honest answer, I suspect that there'll be time between now and him being eligible to play in the league that an accommodation of sorts will be found. Long term I think he's gone and if he doesn't go this window I'll be surprised if he doesn't go over the next two. Our best result is him staying for a year us finding a way into the CL spots and then getting shut when we do. If that's not next season he's gone anyway.

We're desperate for success and he's our best player we aren't in a position were we can attract the players that CL teams seem able to, money helps obviously but there's riches around, so there are pragmatic reasons for telling him he's staying then fucking him off on our terms. If he does the simple things likes apologise and look interested then we'll probably take that because we're fickle like most.

I respect your position here though, I'll admit to being curious as to what your view would be given our previous discussions about him and your consistency is refreshing.

I probably rate him more than Sturridge and Welbeck and Rooney hasn't played well for England since 2004.

Hope they give him more than just 5 mins at the end..

What kind of brain does it take to never get bored of smacking a drum for an entire match?

Ban all instruments.

With Arshavin, Gervinho, Podolski and now Suarez, you can't argue that he's tried to look for a 'new Henry', but it seems a bit odd how much importance he puts on the role of a right going, leftsided attacker, doesn't it?

Wenger likes to have attacking players who can interchange positions during a game. Unfortunately his recent record of buying gems on the cheap isn't great..
