Instead of arguing... we could just put a donk on it.

You can't dictate the way the scene should go. Do what you're doing and don't hate that people are having success within a different area of the genre. Keep making what you want to hear, I'm sure others are and you can listen to that. If you're that bothered I'm sure you'll find the stuff you want to hear, or are you unable to look past the top10 on chemical?

This kind of snobbish attitude is what could shatter Dubstep into a million silly sub-genres. Like house:

House
Acid house
Boogie
Bubblegum dance
Chicago house
Crack house
Dark house
Deep house
Disco house
Dream house
Electro house
Euro house
Fidget house
French house
Freestyle house
US garage
Ghetto house
UK Hard house
Hard NRG
Hi-NRG
Hip house
Italo house
Jackin' house
Kwaito
Latin house
Merenhouse
Minimal house/Microhouse
Progressive house
Scouse house
Swing house
Electronica
Tribal house
Tech house
whats wrong with sub genres? uve mentioned house here, u would feel parred if electro house werent ur thing and u turned up to a night where they were only playing that; and theyve only advertised 'house'..

Well I'd have a look at the DJs. Just like if you didn't like a bit of filth you wouldn't go and see DATSIK, funtcase, Flux etc.

yet your Banoffee Pie track is serious?
Tune did start off as a joke but I ended up liking it enough to play out regularly, some ppl will be able to hear the differences between that and what im calling out some will think it all sounds the same

I do the odd pisstake tune but unlike some producers its only a small fraction of my total output and is just for fun which is why I don't feel too much of a hypocrite having a rant. Was a bit of a windup though, I knew if I didn't say something about the scene being killed no-one would have noticed this thread! Apologies to anyone ive slated but I'll quite happily welcome any of you to a DJ battle on a 70k rig in a decent sized club in Bham to see who can rock a crowd the most rather than who can get the most utube hits. Anyone whos not scared of getting shown up hit me up on myspaz!

This thread is still getting bumped? It is about time for this one to die and another one to start, I have been setting my watch by it. Ok I don't have a watch I lied.

Thing is though I'd happily embarrass myself losing at a dj battle if it meant I could play a rig like that :o

 lol ok u got me there definately guilty as charged! New tunes im working on have much shorter intros but I just can't resist those super long intros sometimes think its a hangover from DNB

I love the long intro on 'what you gonna do' though, well nice.. But definately gonna be on them short ones when you put em out :)

I ain't on typing a long one, and certainly not a calling out names and making it personal. But seeing as you already showed that amount of respect, I thought it's only fair someone with first hand knowledge step in here.

Whether you like to par yourself (and the people who buy your tunes) off by making 'piss take' tunes or just outright shit talking about you not flooding the market with mediocre brostep all last year... it's bless! Because we all know the truth and it reeks of jealousy. I'm not a big man in the game, by any means. But I played a set before you in Manchester a few months back and laid down pure vibes, got the dancefloor bubbling without resorting to playing the brostep you play. Girls winding on the dancefloor etc etc. You come on and play pure brostep, cheesy growly basslines and the most boring beats I heard. Girls dissapear from the dancefloor, loads of sweaty 17 year olds with thier tops of moshing at the front. Sure you got them moshing and that's your target audience, you nailed it, props. But don't for a second think you got to doing that by playing anything less than the cheese brostep you're whinging abut here.

Let's just keep things in perspective.
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

Prefer funtcase to rob sparx, sorry. He just seems like a more fun guy who doesnt give a fuck really just wants to make funny tunes that people can have a good time dancing to or whatever. Whereas rob's attitude is to just rant about everything all the time like some grumpy old man. His music's pretty good obviously he wouldn't be famous in the dubstep scene if it wasn't. I just think his attitude stinks, and relys on too many people on this place to back him up, 70% of people on here being "we h8 br0step" dickheads (by the way anyone that uses the word brostep is an absoloute nobhead, and makes you sound like you eat 20+ dicks a day). Can everyone just chill and let the music do the talking now.

hmm 70% you say, so the majority are 'dickheads'. brilliant.

and your comment in brackets makes you sound too adult, stop being the bigger man and let people say what they got to say.

it is a FORUM, and Brostep (-shit see what i've gone and said), unlike good jump up, ....is shit.
