skyrim - what race and why? (oops - plz delete)

i just bought skyrim...but what race should i pick and why?

i just picked imperial because it sounded the best to me...strong magic and combat.

but my friends telling me to be something mage like like a dark elf or something.

i also kinda like the sounds of the cat guy for sneakiness.

but what do you guys think? i think i would like to use bows, swords, and magic if that build can be effective, what do you guys think?

haha i know i keep doing that cuz id previously be in the SNH and play some games...go back to my computer thinking I'm still in the SNH and post something without paying attention lol. happens quite often, sorry :6:

or redguard
+10 One-handed and +5 Alteration, Archery, Block, Destruction, Smithing

yeah you can go ahead and do anything. some races just start off with higher skills than others but it doesnt really make a difference.
