I'm wondering how to get that "fizz" on top of wobbles. Just say you have your split frequency distorted reece or whatever, if I put the lfo later on in the signal chain I get "wet" wobbles, a bit like in the Cold Blooded in the first few beats of each bar, but I'm wondering how to get the dry and crispy wobbles at the end of each bar? Or after the second drop the dry wobbles are at the start of the bar (3.21).

I'm thinking it must be were you put the LP LFO, or maybe you distort the signal again after LFO - I have tried this but with unsatisfactory results...

this is an easy sound to get well if you have massive but I am sure you can achieve this sound in almost any multi optional additive synth or a synth with unique filters and waveforms/wavetables.

all I can tell you about that is it's a scream filter with a pretty high resonance and at least one osc on formant with an lfo applied on the osc with the formant intensity parameter if that makes any sense. it's actually not that hard. some artists like jogo, daladubz rinse this sound out quite often. kind of like it, it's pretty cool

mucked about in massive for a bit. wasn't really able to get quite near it with the suggested method. was able to get something close with a pulse saw with a high rate lfo'd on the pulse width and a resonant scream filter and a nice heavy downsample, but the osc's keep phase on only one note per every couple octaves. any more suggestions anyone?

Anyone?
I haz Sytrus preset. Requires processing to sound just right. lemme know if you use FL Studio.
The Scary monsters one? :P
yes

that sucks and how is the phase in the osc changing? what other filters are you using with massive? are you just sending every osc. through 1 filter? to beef up a sound i would turn up the unison and check the "Restard via gate" box. and you can mess about where the phases will start and that can drastically effect the sound or it can slightly make it better. i think there isn't too much downsampling going on in that bassline just a touch of it. i have significantly gotten very close to that skrillex sound but i would have to look back at the patch and give you exact detailed instructions on how to achieve the sound you are wanting to get if you want me to still help you out. the bassline isn't too hard to achieve and isn't so great i don't know why you would want that sound.

If u mess around with this patch, you should get pretty close

EDIT: this is it right here but no download link to the patch oh well but this will get you that exact sound trust me

Ahh cheers for the link man, that really is close! Havent used Thor in a while, this'll get me back onto it! haha

Hi!
I'm quite new to producing and am trying to figure out how to make that sick wobbling sound, like in Bar9's Strung Out. Couldn't find any help. Link for the song :

I have been to that page before, and the only reason I can think of is that someone posted the same question here before.

Get on the search ;-)

Wub moved this one fast :Q:

Edit: also think he embedded the youtube for you. He is like super jesus.

Now, anyone want to venture a guess at the riser that's been in every rap song for the last few months: at 15 seconds. I'm thinking maelstrom or thor could do it with an LFO that's kind of stepped assigned to filter pitch?

Came here to post this. Anyone know?

I know skrillex isnt really well liked around here. but ive been trying to figure out how to make the high pitched sound after the drop that sounds sort of mechanical.

Try some detuned saws, one of them being an octave higher than the rest.

What kind of distortion you using? I have got sounds like this (not as rich sounding, mind) using Amplitube - maybe look in the realm of amp/cab simulators ?

yea just a 3 octave spread or sumtin. need to relisten to that

and for that rick ross song it sounds like a saw and a square not sure tremelo'd or just chopped up while its raising up but mono. not sure what else to say that answer was kind of blunt

yeah here you go:

was meant to be a remake of the scary monsters and nice sprites lead, but your sound sounds pretty similar to that.

A bit of fruity fast distortion and a chorus would do the trick.

The patch I posted earlier should be pretty close. http://www.sendspace.com/file/bcoi4t :W: Play F4 and there you go ;)
It's for massive :)
EDIT: This is the same sound that is at the drop of Still getting it by Foreign Beggars feat Skrillex. Play f4, and u have it ;)

That's a signature sound used by Lex Luger, the guy who produced the beat, google Lex Luger Drum Kit and there'll be a sample of it, although i don't think it's a particularly complex sound to make, probably a ramp shape modulator in malstrom assigned to OSC Pitch, set rate to like 1 bar or sum shit, sometimes it's gated as well.

Can you explain what type of stuff you did? I don't have Massive, but I think I can do it in Sytrus (FM). Anything special?
