Out of curiosity, is harmor worth the money? It looks a bit gimmicky if you get me.

Tbh I couldn't say, I liked the look of it mainly for the resynthesis stuff (which as you said is a bit gimmicky). I have used it on occasion in tracks, but only by modifying the presets and I've never used it for a lead synth or bass, only for background stuff and effects.

yeah I'll send this to her right away, and I'll quote her response in this thread  she was a raver, back when all the raves were illegal and in warehouses and they'd do it until the cops came and then move to another warehouse.

And thanks for the info about massive! yeah I bought massive just because I wanted another capable synth outside of logic's stock ones, and that was the one that everyone seems to be using. I was deciding between massive, fm8, and albino (I was really looking for a synth that was good for basses).
back when....? illegal raves are still going son

Alright that'll be helpful! Thanks man! Before I just dl that though, I'll have to have spend some more time trying to make reeses myself, or else it's basically cheating
Some artist's use pre made paints do they not?
Maybe, but if I'm using them and I don't know how to go about actually MAKING them, well then I'm pretty confined.

If you still don't know how to make a reece by this point in the thread then I would advise giving up.

Yeah i'm most definitely up for collabing with any one on the forum.Let me know when you are up for it and i'm on it.
Thanks mate, i appreciate the feedback. I'll put it another way, i'm not making the tunes i want to yet, and won't be satisfied until i can. 8)

Yeah i'll be back in a couple of weeks, i look forward to it. I've never collaborated before so it should be interesting.
Are any of us making the tunes we want? When i sound identical to chasing shadows i will be happy
They for me make the chunkiest reece's in the business and have a sound i can only dream of replicating.
When your back just drop me a pm,i'll be in Turkey soon working for a week so if i'm there i will get back to as soon as i'm home.I think a good idea would give eachother some reference tracks of where we want to go and then pass stems to eachother.I use reason and believe your on fruity i think so just sending wavs through soundcloud or sendspace will make the process a lot easier.
I think lets make it reece based because this is where we basically met so maybe it's fate, your gonna help me crack that chasing shadows sound
There's a guy on DOA who all but nailed the Chasing Shadows reese. It's not quite as fat, but it's hella close. I think he may have done a tutorial on it

Reaktor 5 -> Razor -> Heavily Modified Dark Alley preset:
notable changes:
spectral clip to flat
safe bass turned up significantly
stretch amount linked to note velocity ( with value ~14 or so )
oscillators are pulse to saw and octaves to saw
release turned down
comb notch tweaked
reverb off ( obviously )
poly set to mono
signal routing:
A. initial channel strip delayed 50 milliseconds w/ 2 blood overdrives set to default params
B. parallel routing sent to another channel with just a phaser
B split to C. with mid pass EQ with another phaser, channel delayed 100ms and 2 more default blood overdrives
C. fed to D.
B split to D.
D. has another default blood overdrive, phaser ( mix modulated by env #1 ) and PEQ2 with high pass SC from the kick, and a couple other filters for phrasing
D. has it's send to Bus 1 modulated by control envelope #1, also a high pass filter's cutoff modulated to env #1
Bus 1: delay, phaser set to taste
Vox:
I just have this gated with Duda's LFOTool and also bussed into Bus 1
I am sure I missed something, but I think that is enough to get you started ;)
So this is a quote from dogs on acid from the guy with the tutorial on chasing shadows reece, hmmmm i'm gonna have a bit of buttfuckery with logic see if i can work it out.Anyone with razor and fl 10 fancy having a pop at this because i couldn't find the oiriginal file he posted to see if it is like chasing shadows.

Nah I do but not as well as I might. Hircine's method is sick I got an amazing reese from that!

and @Phase Down - yeah I know but before the whole "rave culture" idea got commercialized

I made this really quickly following that, although I didn't add any modulation automation and the I just chucked on presets for the phasers and the notes suck but.....

honestly, spor really does it for me.

Skip to 1:50 to see what I mean. That thing just has so much movement and it's so alive. I would love to know how he makes shit like that.

I totally agree. I really hope he puts out another Spor EP this year rather than solely pumping out his Feed Me stuff.

"I think I'll put an album out in August." That's what Spor's facebook said as of january 29th. God I hope it's true. I really enjoy a lot of his stuff as feed me, but I'll take spor any day of the week. He did have that collab with Phace somewhat recently on the latest Neosignal release "energie" called "out of focus" which was pretty damn good (but who knows how long ago they actually made the song-> I think pacifica took a couple of years to release...

Spor's filter work is some of the craziest shit I've ever heard.

You can only take the original sound so far with effects (he doesn't even freq split lol) and then it just comes down to experimenting with different filter combos/automation until you get some groove going.
