TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA:

"LEGO is officially written in all uppercase letters. The company asserts that to protect its brand name, the word Lego must always be used as an adjective, as in "LEGO set", "LEGO products", "LEGO universe", and so forth. Nevertheless, such corporate admonitions are frequently ignored and the word Lego is commonly used not only as a noun to refer to Lego bricks, but also as a generic term referring to any kind of interlocking toy brick."

case closed.

Wheres the extra 1%?

69% right (LEGO)
30% wrong (LEGOS)

Also from wiki:

On average, everyone in the world has 62 LEGO bricks each

i'm gonna continue to refer to them as "legos" with the added intention now to tarnish the name of LEGO and disassociate their corporate name from the toy in reference.

It's funny how the lego folk in this thread keep posting the same thing over and over and over again about the company's wishes of how it's to be refered to, but at the same time completely discrediting themselves as you state that you call it simply lego, not lego bricks or toys.

Funny way to prove yourself wrong hahaha

OK so maybe they WANT you to address their pieces of plastic as LEGO in order to preserve their brand name, but that doesn't override the rules of the english language.

would you ever say to someone, "please pass me some lego"?

I WOULDNT

SHUT UP
