Man I was just listening to a couple nostalgic tunes in my itunes library and realized something. They used to play actual gangster rap on daytime 100% mainstream radio, but now you never really hear actual rap tunes, just shite pop electro house with a rap feature, at most.

Like, a couple of tunes that got a lot of play were 50 Cent - PIMP, David Banner - 9mm and Obie Trice - Snitch. TBF a lot of those tunes had Akon on the hook lol, but still. Somewhat proper rap songs.

Apparently you can hear Asap rocky and YG and shit on american daytime radio, is that true?

the station i listen to in america plays yg/jeezy/migos all that shit

there are unlawful themes in many of these songs

some songs it blocks almost everything regardless of the time of day, others are way more lenient

i think the censorship comes mostly from the label, not the station

the only specific example of a tune that changes at 11 i can think of right now
is there is a 2 chains verse on a jason derulo song & he says "oral sex" which is allowed only at night
