I took 3 grand, my gf took 3 grand and we both came back with about £400 give or take.
Its loads cheaper as a couple and we had some amazing hosts in malaysia (thanks to Kay for putting us in touch!) and mates who came to bangkok so cabs and stuff were spilt further. Sri Lanka was the cheapest, Malaysia was on par with thailand so cheap, cambodia isnt due to being obsessed with the $ so even a coffee is 1$ and then singapore is Uk prices almost.

Its quite easy to not spend if your at a beach place or a city with alot of free culture bits. We didnt stay in many places with AC after the first month unless the room came with it at no extra cost so that saved quite abit.
