All went downhill from there.

Damn that beats my Van Halen (although actually realistically lots of stuff does. Just not spending bare money on a dubstep classic)particle-jim wrote:mine was Pantera - Cowboys from Hell for 50p, and thus began the addictionwolf89 wrote:My first record I bought was Van Halen - Van Halen for £1.

That glow in the dark 12" of Scary Monsters and Sprites by SkrillexDrGatineau wrote:Any suggestions for what i should make my first vinyl purchase?
really? no one's ever said anything to me about it but I've been getting more gigs lately and some of the promoters really know their shit so i wonder if they would be like "nah this guy isn't legit" if you play vinyl only tunes on CDJs. like if they released it on digital i would buy it on digital but if they refuse to release on digital then yeah it's stealing but imo it doesn't hurt the artist/label economically because they aren't selling it digitally anyway.Harkat wrote:yo, whos gonna come up to when you're playing out like "HA! LEARN FORWARD ISN'T ON DIGITAL!".
I hear people on CDJs drop vinyl only shit all the time, it's nothing.
i do want to do this as well. i wanna get like 15-20 records so i can start practicing on turntables and then when me and my friend get solid on turntables we won't have any worries about playing on any type of old CDJ in clubs.Harkat wrote:Get into buying records if you want, but not cus of that lol.
are you suggesting telling people i have all the dmz's on vinyl and digitized them myself?Shum wrote:pro tip: you can purchase vinyl-only releases and then digitise them yourself.
whatever gets em off your back lol. 99.9% of promoters wouldn't care as long as you fill your slot and maybe keep some people on the dancefloor.DrGatineau wrote:are you suggesting telling people i have all the dmz's on vinyl and digitized them myself?Shum wrote:pro tip: you can purchase vinyl-only releases and then digitise them yourself.
Was it you who made that thread a while ago saying you wanted to get into collecting vinyl but only if in the future, you could sell them all and make money?DrGatineau wrote:really? no one's ever said anything to me about it but I've been getting more gigs lately and some of the promoters really know their shit so i wonder if they would be like "nah this guy isn't legit" if you play vinyl only tunes on CDJs. like if they released it on digital i would buy it on digital but if they refuse to release on digital then yeah it's stealing but imo it doesn't hurt the artist/label economically because they aren't selling it digitally anyway.Harkat wrote:yo, whos gonna come up to when you're playing out like "HA!
