Going to the library worked wonders. They were open saturday and yesterday and I got more done in those two days than I had in all the months previous of doing this shit. Didn't feel stressed while working either. Probably still behind on the project but I'm cool with it because I worked honestly now. From now on, I think I'll be doing a lot of work down there. Having your brain associate a place with "working" rather than "fucking up" can be pretty damn powerful it seems.

Anyway, this is the pissed off thread but fuck it, I hope everyone has a sick Christmas. I hope Ehb gets a boat or at least a boat ride. I hope agent gets new kitchen utensils and m8son gets a shibe and wolf gets a foot massage from MC Ride and Genny gets a tour of Foxconn.

designed a vinyl sleeve dirt cheap as a favour for an old good friend

they went on tour and conveniently 'forgot' to pay me. another one of my designer friends designed their next EP sleeve and they paid her straigth away and sent her two copies of the sleeve i designed. i dont think they realised we knew each other. emailed the head honcho (very politely) saying ' hey mate you seem to have forgotten to pay me'. and he said ' i wasnt involved with that repress, it must have been the other two guys. so i personally owe you nothing' (which was a lie, i have like 10 back and forth emails regarding that press)

if someone did me a favour and i 'forgot' to pay them, even if i wasnt the one who organised it, i would be like "oh shit sorry mate, i wasnt involved with taht but ill defo get that sorted for u asap"

that sucks. I've stopped dealing with individuals, especially in the music industry. Everyone seems to be out to short change each other.

My advice, send a formal invoice with a highlighted deadline of payment date and keep hounding them. Hopefully they'll get sick of you and just pay up. Do you have a company registered or was it just a cash deal?

the first time i havent made people sign a contract in agessss, just cos its that good of a mate i thought not to bother. in the past ive forced contracts on even the best of buddies haha

fortunately the fella i know was dead nice about it (not nice enough to pay me on time, the little plop) but he's getting it all sorted for me. i just told the other guy his attitude was disgraceful, especially cos i've helped them all out on very short notice in the past too.

was a cash in hand jobby (fuk tha police), in the process of starting a business up with an illustrator friend of mine, should be getting going early next year très excité!!!
