Self-titled demo is perfect. Probably my favourite Metal release of all time.

would recomment our in-house ambient meister:

Radio Space Pop: http://www.myspace.com/radiospacepop
Take a deep breath and immerse in the deep synesthetic frequencies of Radio Space Pop’s debut album. Warm synths, rich and glowing atmos, gentle percussions, mechanical glitches, repetitive minimal patterns and a bit of interstellar hum will surround and take you to Terra 2, a place Nonel Motataianu aka Radio Space Pop imagined in a cold winter’s month that kept him hostage in the studio. Tune in and get lost in the “Park”.
new album coming in november

a bit of shameless pimpin' but this guy's worth it...

Check my tune called "MOVEMENT" for ambience, mad time signature, no 4/4 shite, a skunk induced subby bubble. on my myspace

Don't think anyone's mentioned Vladislav Delay. He does really nice jumbled up dub based ambient - check out his albums Anima or Four Quarters.

Also I'll second Fennesz and Murcof.

Dub/Minimal techno is great and I was oblivious to it before this thread, so cheers you guys. Been listening to loads of Fluxion, Rhythm & Sound (Carrier, wow) and Echospace via youtube. Can anyone recommend some more artists who make that really deep, chilled techno?

Yagya put out a cool record this year entitled "Rigning".

My absolute favourite is Porter Ricks - Biokinetics

I second the suggestions of Maeror Tri (check this) and Steve Roach, specifically midnight moon. I also recommend Kammarheit as well as some of Lisa Gerrard's solo albums as well her collabo's with Klaus Schulze and "immortal memory" with Patrick Cassidy.

Guy is a genius, Multila, Ele, Entain and Anima are some of my favourite albums ever, not to mention his other aliases.

He hasn't really done anything of note in the past few years, though.

I'm going to go ahead and recommend Philip Jeck, Sand is amazing.

Nordlicht is better. I'd say. o.o

:O

Dunno how you can possibly say that dude?! I mean, the Nordlicht record was good but it's just one record. Self-titled demo shits on practically all other Black Metal.

Next you'll be saying you prefer Vinterriket too.

Anyway, since the years coming to a close, here's a cool list of the Ambient shit I've found for '09:

Motohiro Nakashima - We Hum on the Way Home
Alexander Turnquist - As the Twilight Crane Dreams in Color
d_rradio - Leaves
Danny Norbury - Light in August
Emeralds - What Happened
Alva Noto - Xerrox Vol.2
Mokira - Persona
Celer - Capri
Elegi - Varde
Tomasz Bednarczyk - Let's Make Better Mistakes Tomorrow
William Fowler Collins - Perdition Hill Radio
Chihei Hatakeyama - Saunter
Pillowdiver - Sleeping Pills
Christopher Hipgrave - Day
Gregg Kowalsky - Tape Chants
Jon Hassell - Last Night the Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes in the Street
Sleepy Town Manufacture & Unit 21 - No Traces
Ambrose Field & John Potter - Being Dufay
Alio Die & Aglaia - Private History of the Clouds
Christopher Tignor - Core Memory Unwound
Zelienople - Hollywood
Sleeping Me - Lamenter
Animal Hospital - Memory
Last Days - The Safety Of The North
Rhian Sheehan - Standing In Silence
Message To Bears - Departures
Ekkehard Ehlers & Paul Wirkus - Ballads
Hildur Gudnadottir - Without Sinking
