if this is how you view marketing yourself and your business, good luck. for some reason you don't find it a problem to spam people. you're actually doing more damage to your site and your music than you know.KARMINE wrote:Yea the remixes are good. you can download 'em free here http://www.dubsteplife.com/forum/free-k ... -s-t8.html
It's my site and my tracks and I would not call giving away free tracks 'spamming'.
I didn't personally send all the 'spam' (free tracks) but I gave the heads up to it. We got tons and tons of PM's saying how much people loved the beats, and how wicked that they are FREE. I fail to see the problem, you do have a PM button after all, why cant I use it?
I mean if I sit in a studio for a month and make 2 bangers and decide to give them away free, then take the time and effort to send them to you so you don't even have to find them, really what is the problem here?
I am giving away free dubstep tracks in a dubstep forum using features set up by this very site. I'M NOT SELLING WINDOWS HERE BRUV!! OR DISTURBING YOU EATING YOUR TEA or what ever.
Just enjoy the beats and go for a ice cold koppaberg or somthing!
P.S dubsteplife was set up not to comete with dubstepforum but to complement it, to give a way for producers and DJ's to upload and stream tracks in high 256kps quality so they can show off their works in high quality.. Its run for zero profit and to help grow the sceene exactly like dubstep forum. Dubstep is not about cash for anyone really, it's an escape. A passion.
If anyone has got a problem with that please let me know.
we live in a world of overhype and spam. people deal with it every single day. the last place they want to deal with it is on an internet forum as well.KARMINE wrote:@ sekle:
If u saw me on a tube and I had a dubstep T shirt on (giving the heads up I like dubstep, same as being on this forum) and u gave me a (dubstep) CD and (dubstep) flyer with your website on, I would most definitely not tell you to fuck off. I would probably take you for a pint and a chat.
I never make assumptions, only calculated decisions. And as far as feedback goes 99% of the response was very positive. There is no 'fuck you' in 'here is a free track'.
As far as human interaction go, I don't stop doing that just because I use this forum, but I do adapt the process to suit the media. Its very much an as well as, not a replacement.
Further, make no mistake. This is not my 'business'. I am an entrepreneur by nature and run a successful company. Dubstep is 100% passion and nothing else. Don't get me wrong, I would never turn down good money if it ever came along, but I would be 100% happy if I never saw a penny from making dubstep.
I welcome everyone who meets me at a rave or on the tube to give me your CD's etc. I'll be the one with the hot girl by my side and having a fucking good time!
Big up

well, most people do. and we can't exactly say its ok to spam people about certain things, but its not about everything else. the bottom line is by promo blasting your marketing to hundreds of people, its making one big assumption. we get enough promo on the main forum as it is, and to get it via PM's is just rude.Neurotik wrote:I have no real problems with freindly messages suggesting links to tracks to check out etc, it's just when it comes to prescripted/automated advertisements that have nothing to do with dubstep or the nature of the forum.
