Like Bandshell said, this is way too subjective to limit things to one person as there's been a slew of good music from loads of different genre's.

If i had to choose, it would probably hands down be a shootout 'twixt Floating Points and Bibio.

the best albums of the year were Cloaks - Versus Grain and Kryptic Minds - One of Us (at least for me)

Too many producers doing amazing things this year to choose just 1.

For me Kryptic Minds & DFRNT have really been on form in 2009. Still my release of the the year has to be Oppidan by Access To Arasaka. Absolutely amazing.
DZ deserves a mention as well with his Badman Press label too (DZ remix of Comfortably Numb is :o )
