to be honest you have only been on this forum for a year so how do you now who "runs dis ting"
the fact is, as skream has admitted it wasnt his best set, i was there and i agree
but he has done everything for this style of music by pretty much creating it
just show him the respect he deserves, whats the point in starting a thread saying how bad a set he played
maybe start a thread talking about how his style has changed, but not just about how he played a bad set

On that night there were quite a few technicals, that is enough to put of any Dj and someone who really came to enjoy an hour of their favourite DJ. That set was pretty damn annoying and you could see that on Skream Face. I remember he was in the mix and he dropped a fresh plate that played fine the last time he played it, and it jumped in like 3 places.

I've got to say do prefer more of the tear out set skream used to play not really on the vocal/cross over stuff that is about.. lot's of singing and noise... however you may describe it just doesn't seem to me like i am being moved by sub sometimes in skreams sets of lately. I suppose though I am not about crowd pleasers or tunes that people consider to be big... I just like my subbed out rollers.

What we really should be doing btw is putting together a little petition or doing a little fund raiser for plastic people... raise some money so they can get there mixer sorted out and so on and so forth. In future btw.. instead of flaming a Dj live on the forums send them a PM or talk to them in the dance and ask them what was up. Much more constructive then sitting behind a screen name on the PC.

Fuck neeks and their "one time chance" to see Skream in 2009, get over it, its a club night, on a Sunday, it is what it is- it doesn't have "This night will change your life or money back" printed on the flyer

Maybe if you got out a bit more you would learn to take the rough with the smooth and you would also have a better idea of (a)what Skream is/can be like in a dance and (b)how nights can sometimes go down at plastic people or any other club night for that matter (regardless of the line up)

All of us have had nights that weren't as good as we hoped. Deal with it and manage your expectations better in future my yout.

shit man... sad times.. theres too many idiots running loose on this forum, let alone the nights. Sad because ive stopped going to nights as much exactly because of people like this. Ive been checking up on this forum for a while (just never made an account till recently) as its progressed mroe djs and producers have been leaving the forum or stopped posting, if you really enjoy the music lets support it and not act like children!

This isn't a question of research. Skream was an architect of the sound, and nobody can deny that.

dont blame the dj for the club's shoddy equipment

most clubs dont even change their stylus nowadays due to the classic, club music "vinyl's dead" approach.
there is no excuse for a club having decks which jump & if they do they deserve to be criticised

as for skream.....

iv not heard a set by him in a while, & i have heard him clang a mix before, but he's only human.
The fact that he's broadening his tracklists a bit it great news

Im sik of been able to predict the tracklists for A-listers sets
(ie Metalmouth, when i look at you, eyez ect (plenty more))
those tunes have now grown old imo & i'm quite frankly sick of hearing them out (shame most of em havnt even seen a release yet)

gna hopefully catch skream @ subdub soon & im confident that he wont disappoint

I think when you're one of the top players in the scene ('rising star in the dark skies of dubstep' as mah put it) you're a lightning rod for criticism, and from what I've seen on the forum over the years is that skream deals with a lot of this ish pretty well, considering. what's the worst offense he's committed, calling someone a weasel?

Left corner is the best, cos when you bust a big fart in it there's nowhere for it to go except up the noses of several shaven headed gentlemen in new eras.

Whereas on the right it can spread right to the bar and ruin somebody's gin and tonic.

In Skream's defence I have seriously struggled to play to my full potential in Plastic People for the last year or so.

They seriously need that mixer sorted. I'm all for people holding it up for the analog massive, but that mixer has NO EQ, no grip on the faders, and don't get me started on how awkward it is to set serato up in there. And it aint anythin to do with them having no money, they are just hell bent on keeping it in the club as they are so anti digital in there. For some reason my SL3 box sounds like its running under water when I play on the system there I've had to use my SL2 box the last 2 times I played there (this happens nowhere else in the world, and I cannot explain or troubleshoot where the problem is with the sound so can only put it down to the signal being sent from the turntable cables).

There was a problem with the right deck the week before the skream set in question, and Geeneus had to bring a new turntable to the club so that Gemmy and I could play off Serato properly - when Gemmy tried to play a vinyl half way thru his set the right deck would only come out of the right speaker at about half the volume.

Plastic People is one of my favourite, if not my very favourite club to play in when it's running smoothly. But I can completely sympathise with Skream about the difficulty of playing there lately. They need to get a pioneer mixer in there a bit lively.
