All this is fine and good but from where do the roots stem?
Dark floor, after hours.
Maybe, dubstep on a sunny bbq is ignoring you're environment.
On that note. Was just listening to A Mutual Antipathy and thought that the reason I like it so much is that it's the light rising up from the depths. I think those who experience all dubstep, excuse me, MOST dubstep as dark, are missing this crucial element.

Having said that, I reckon Coki's 'Ruff Lovin'' would go well in that situation - its a happy tune.
Actually.. that's the point I missed right there. Why were we all replying to a thread just cos someone's MUM didn't like his dubstep. LOL.

for real, there are a grip of artists here making really good music... lumping the good in with the bad is ignorance, IMO... Noah D? DJG? Starkey? Babylon System? There are tons more, I won't keep rattling them off, but you can't disrespect these guys just because other Americans are making tunes you don't like.
In response to the original purpose of this thread, check out Blasta- his album on Argon is definitely parent friendly.
real talk!
also, "rock like this" and "the scratch the bass" by matty g

RIPPLE.
I'm British, but live in Indonesia. As a result, and the fact the crowd are free from prejudice and Valentino Baseball caps.. I play a pretty international set.

Was looking on the web for positive dubstep, to verify I didn't just invent a genre

Thanks for this thread!
What do you think, I just made this:

The idea was to cross dubstep with that '92 Prodigy vibe. It's not well worked out, just a doodle... but I'd love to hear more like this.

Definitely a lack of positive/soulful/uplifting dubstep. At the mo I'm definitely more on this tip as I'm a darked out to be honest.

Anyways for me no one comes close to Silkie in terms of tunage quality and production - that guy is totally underated.

Just don't play dubstep mate. I find a lot of the time it isn't appropriate.

the awesome thing about dubstep is that there's something in it for people from all backgrounds. lots of close-mindedness in this thread. it's definitely all out there though, get your hands dirty!
