Certain artists, I do. Some albums just clearly have an order... you can't get to the end of one track without having already moved onto the next in your head.

A lot of electronic albums are a bit more like collections of singles, so I hope around a bit. I'm finding it VERY easy to lose an hour to Hudson Mohawke and Memories of the Future always gets played out.

Had Beatles - Revolver on the other night. Brill.

Do this every day. Find an album or two and try to listen to the whole thing a couple times over a couple of days whilst I'm strollin' round doing my shit. Usually get through about 5 albums a week. Had a weird ass mix this week:

Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust
Birdy Nam Nam - Manual to Successful Rioting
DJ Shadow - Private Press

Listened to A Tribe Called Quest: Beats Rhymes and Life for a couple days now, because it's amazing. Now going through De la Soul: Grind Date and Souls of Mischief: 93 til Infinity. Going through a weird Old School Hip Hop phase. A couple amazing albums that stay amazing pretty much throughout, that I can think of off the top of my head:

Fort Knox Five - Radio Free DC
Indian Rope Man - Elephant
KRS One - KRS One
Hexstatic - Masterview

And it was five hours long! the soundtrack was only released on really ltd double lp back in the 70's. The electronic music score was by a little known russian electronic composer.

I think the concept of an LP that's designed to be listened to as a whole is dying slowly, even if it's designed that way, more often than not the material lends itself to skipping through.
The last electronic LP that I regularly listen to all the way through is the Board Of Canada's 'Music Has The Right...'
It works as a cohesive whole, and is more than the sum of it's parts. There are very few LP's like that, even from more traditional bands and the like these days.
There's a shed load of stuff from earlier decades that work a 'concept' LP's and in their own right. I think of stuff like the Incredible String Band's 'Hangman's Beautifull Daughter' and Nick Drake's first 3 lp's Hendrix 'Axis Bold As Love' the two My Bloody Valentine LP's on Creation, Eno's 'Appollo', certain soundrack LP's, the odd Lee Perry album, and I could go on.
It's a skill for sure to be able to hold attention for 45 minutes plus in the era of instant access.

You talking about the Cliff Martinez version? Thats a sick film score, they used it them VW golf night drive ads. One of my favourite OSTs.

Today I'm reliving being a teenager by playing Green Day albums all the way through.

I'm so cool.

Also, do it when im chilling, laying down, with it on the home cinema thing. Love just laying down with my eyes closed listening to a whole album whilst laying down.

Too many albums are just compilations of singles now. Also, alot of albums are just TOO long.

I know they arent particularly popular here, but the new Arctic Monkeys album is probably the only recent pop album I've heard that works really well as an album in its own right.

Man, imagine there being a "double laying down". Sounds lovely. Or. If you lie down first, and then, unexpectedly, some girl comes to fuck you, you get laid, so it's a double laydown, yeah? Because the initial intensions of laying down was solely laying down (not expected to get laid). Haha. Man, double laying down for the win.
