who cares ? unless they use it wrong, then inform them on how its used... words, ideas, and ways of thinking travel, at light speed nowadays

using things wrong is disrespect... using things correctly in the proper context is communication.

i've heard many Americans use some of our slang, but not all of it.. for example 'minging' which is the same as gross

imo, to really speak like people from anywhere you have to THINK like those people, which kinda really only works if you are there... so when people sometimes overuse things wrong, Americans who seem determined to drop as many bruv & innits or canadians overuse some 1980s jamaican slang lol.. or whatever when its communication it just makes sense, when its a act its awkward & the situation feels forced and the use of the slang tends to even emphasize a misunderstanding, its reasonable to ask why are you doing that? lol...

but yeh, in NYC i actually end up speaking to people from all kinds of places all the time and hardly anyone speaks anything in particular, the future is crazy and we gotta communicate

the n word comes from a lot of pain and suffering, and its a word thats abused every day here in america, and i have big problem with people taking it lightly as if its nothing. you use that here in NYC in certain situations, and you can get yourself killed.
it's exactly the same in the uk, and there is other places outside croydon.

O my fukin dayz. croydon for fuk sake. Its a fukin suburb of London full of day shoppers and crystal palace fans ,give me a break mate. before this dubstep thing Croydon had a pretty pointless excistence and to most still has. croydon  being a real south londoner all this talk of Croydon makes me laugh.
croydon has a rich history of talented people coming out of it...

i'm so proud that the place i live is now responsible for individuals that sparked a global phenomenom
So does most of south London mate. Croydon is most famous for being a very boring place ,Theyhave produced a half decent striker and charlie brass coke head model great  . O yah and dont forget those badboy trams.Speaking of those trams are they still extending them to Brixton and peckham

Personally I think its nice for British culture to be rubbing off on American's as apposed to the other way around.

British culture and slang has been Americanised (sorry, Americanized) for the last few decades, why not have it the other way round for once?

that kinda shows that only retards care about that word any more
I'm sorry but it's almost 2010 and n word or not if you kill somebody for using it... well what can i say pathetic really

I never used that word but it still shocks me how people react to it and let's be honest those people have no clue about the whole thing just a reason to bang their chest about something they heared stories about
have you ever said that to a black person in america to his face? i think a lot of europeans watch too many rap videos and movies, and then have some notion that its become acceptable language.

sure, some might think nothing of it, and shrug it off, but others might send you to the hospital. just depends on the situation. i've seen here in NYC with my own eyes, a whole bar explode into a massive fight that went into the street, cops etc...... because one black guy called another black guy a "n" over a billiards game, and he wasn't having any of it. it was a situation that went from a discussion to violence in about 30 secs. there's black people that want nothing to do with that word at all, and then there's black people that want ownership of that word, as a way of turning its negativity around. jay-z, nas and biggie we're about the latter. two very different perspectives all over one word. which is right, and which is wrong?

so, if you're willing to navigate all of that with a shrug of the shoulder, i suggest you think about the consequences in saying it here in america face to face with someone. maybe read up about the civil rights struggle a bit. its real easy to say on the internet and take lightly, safely behind your screen.

I could care less but I have crossed paths with a dude who developed a fake British accent b/c he said he was spending some time in England getting his record label going. That was a trip.

I try not to do it but like since I talk to people from the UK so much, I sometimes catch myself saying "cheers" when I mean to say thank you. lol

That being said, I love the term "waste cadet' and will use that shamelessly
