mala's got probably 2 albums worth of unreleased dubs that more than half of the people in this sound now would've never heard out in a club. thats very very special, because it means that he's got so many more options when he spins out live. at dmz vs bombsquad in london last year, mala played an hour or more of all of his older dubs (2003-2005), and killed it. conference 2, intergalactic, mzn, etc...those kind of dubs. i'd love to see a mala "old school" tour, where he plays nothing but his old tunes out, before i'd like to see an album or cd come out. he's got crazy beats.

I saw Mala for the first time a couple of weeks back and I only heard about 2 tunes I recognized. It was awesome, I spent most of his set with my eyes closed lost in these awesome new sounds. It was such a different experience from the normal "OH YES, THIS TRACK!" or "YEAAHHH FUCK OFF!".

Because of this i'm kinda torn between seeing a Mala album. It'd be great to hear loads of new bits but I wouldnt get that awesome feeling of never hearing them before when I see him live, but i'm sure he would still be able to create something special when he plays.

But saying that, I'm still happy with his current output, it may not be a lot, but the giddyness I got when I saw Changes/Miracles/Level 9 released can't be beat :)

Mala rules.

id like to see an album with all new loefah, mala and coki. would be epic.

id like to see the guys who are basically the dubstep og's put something out to school everyone. something to take dubstep back to the roots and away from the techy filth side. I mean i enjoy shit like excision and like the rottun records bunch, but id like to hear the real sound make a massive comeback.

and its not about selling out. putting an album out is not selling out. setting up merch booths and selling your face on everything known to man, and playing sets and no even mixing, and using pre-mixes is selling out...
