Yeah, and Phoscyon for it's sound though it's not really true to the 303.
Rebirth isn't a very good emulation IMO, but it's a classic & it has a certain recognizable sound that's nice.
Check out Creakbox & Tau Bassline both have Mac versions and are pretty good.
I just brought that, I love analogue.

i went on this quest once.. the holy grail 303, but in software form. conclusion i reached is rebirth.. it's the only 303 emulation i've witnessed that get's at the 303's essence, which means it reconstructs the way the original machine operated. to have an plug that SOUNDS like a 303 in a DAW that works nothing like the 303 is to accomplish nothing.
i mean hell, people these days (clubgoers) want to hear digital synths anyways. 303's a great machine for its place in music history and its amazing sounds, but ultimately a collectors item at this point. and oh how i'd love to collect one
it's called TS-404 and it's free, simple to use, and generates some insane acid. there's a random sequence generator too. you can export sequences and use them as loops in your daw. i mean rebirth is great, but this is so damn tiny and handy and way more awesome.

old thread is old.
But yeah, ABL2 ive been using for ages, but just got an x0xb0x built. sickness. tried d16s but wasnt as into.
not had much chance to play with it, but had about a 2 hour jam on sat night imn ableton, its seriosuly wicked, soooo close to the 303...
first/main 303 is the x0xbox, drum by a reaktor ensemble and ADM, second 303 is ABL2. Just chucked on a limiter and FATSO and a couple of eqs not mixed or mastered, but gives you an idea. loads of raw 303 at the end.
Abletons wicked too. Not touched cubase in ages. stupidly busy at the mo, got a ton of stuff need to delve in further (automap pro, reaktor, FM8, Massive, ableton, x0xbox) but totally new approach is very inspiring.
ableton ftw.

hmmm... each to their own and all that but cant believe people are into rebirth... wasnt even close ten years ago.
Fancy a shootout?
Heres the famous Humanoid pattern, in ABL2 format. You can just save into a text file, and rename to .pat to load into ABL. Otherwise you can enter it manually, the extra code is for accent slide etc

Ill provide ABL2 and x0xb0x patterns as mp3s.
REbirth with processing is quite good imo
I dont understand this .txt file business ur on about tho?
btw, is the track in question "humannoid" ?
Yeah, stakker humanoid.
tune!
ABL can load text files as patterns, just copy and paste the code above into a text file and rename humanoid.pat and itll load into ABL. otherwise ou just have to manually enter the 16 steps.
