HA! (lol re: Steelers getting spanked) Good one Pkay.

Pennsylvania accents weird me out a little. My boss is from some rustbelt hole in PA (not that all of the rustbelt is a hole...) and sometimes I want to correct her bizarre pronunciation, but then, I'm a Chicagoan-turned-Californian so I'm sure my inflection sounds odd at times too.

Philly accent is funny tho.

On the subject of "Pittsburghese" - I dig linguistics and phonology and that shit so your post prompted me to read up on it a little. Interesting stuff. I say 'crud' and 'jagoff,' apparently contributions from Yinzers like you'uns.

I grew up north of Pittsburgh, I have a subtle Pittsburgh accent at most but I have been living here for a while I can do the accent pretty well. It gets deep, it's like a whole other language.

new york city is the shit.

parties out west are apparently bigger... but we have plenty of good sized sick jams... like every week... and everyday there is SOMETHING jumping off. we do underground edm here in our own way.....

i honestly cant think of a single downside of NYC. it really is the shit.

I lived in Pittsburgh for two years and honestly the "yinz" and "jagoff"s didn't bother me as much as the supremely weird pronunciation of "downtown" ("dahn tahn"). Pittsburgh is kind of like a Galapagos of bad grammar.

No because it is 1,000's of miles away. I think you are missing my point.[/quote]

Go to a Smog and Pure Filth event. Then come talk to me about not having a scene.
Pure FIlth just had Joker come through and I would say 800-1000 people were in attendance.

yinzers are so ridiculous. i live in pgh and i make fun of them constantly, they are all dumb as shit and only care about the steelers, cars, beer, hunting, and are all stuck in the 1980s.

 yes you most certainly missed my point. I am well aware of the success of those nights and would love to go but that would be quite an expensive outing for me unfortunately. Anyway that is Cali, not the US. The US scene is not bumping just because there are 2 or 3 huge nights in this ridiculously large country.

Dubstep is poppin off all over the west! Shit, we only have a million people here in New Mexico but every dubstep show pops off. LA, SF, Denver, Austin, Seattle, Vegas all these cities are big when it comes to dubstep, not sure about the east but I'm sure you'll be just fine!

There is a lot of that yeah. I think the Pittsburgh city council is working on making hanging leagal again in Allegheny county, I wouldn't want to be Tomlin right now  I still got my Pens tho. Kicking ace.
