JFC what is the difference exactly?wirez wrote:Now apparently, Future Garage is definitely not supposed to be coined as a genre... It's a 'movement'.abZ wrote:Tru. At least it's not future garageDZA wrote:Trick question
Theres no difference
Both are shit
This is a UK thing tho, it does get retarded but I suppose it is inevitable that dubstep as a term will die off and all the fragments keep evolving into something else. I called DNB, jungle long after the meeting of the minds took place to remame the genre. In the US it is a bit different we make up genre names for fun it's kinda tongue in cheek but the UK boys seem to take it serious. It's just music. Who gives a fuck.Big MD wrote:Splitting genres ends up evil for those who love the genre like it is. It ends up in nothing. UK Garage ended whit fans but no producers, cause everyone wants to bee a founder of a style. STOP THIS!!!!!!!! keep it united and celebrate the multiplity of our Musicstyle!

You make very good points, but in a way, subgenres to some extent help you find the sound you're looking for. You mentioned Beaport--being able to distinguish crackly Hotflush type tunes from Rusko smashers is well helpful. Bad example perhaps, but the Japanese did that with p0rn: splintered every conceivable thing into describable terms so people can find exactly what they're looking for... it has usesabZ wrote:This is a UK thing tho, it does get retarded but I suppose it is inevitable that dubstep as a term will die off and all the fragments keep evolving into something else. And we all thank Japan for doing that.ketamine wrote:You make very good points, but in a way, subgenres to some extent help you find the sound you're looking for. Changing LFO rate makes the best brostepnitz wrote:However if its just some random wobbles without a content, going C, D,C, D LFO change rate, well to be thats not music in my ears.

For me, am normally into the more deep mellow stuff, but that don't negate the factor some producers technical ability is far outstanding. For example at the moment am listening to "Last Night In Brooklyn (NumberNin6Remix)" and i can not say thing is "brostep" Yes it has a very heavy bassline to it, but he has he trance elements are in there too. Listen into the back of the mix, middle 8, and outro, wonderfull side chaining in the middle 8. The way i see it is, if the wobble or heavy bassline is put into content with the song i have no problem listening to it. However if its just some random wobbles without a content, going C, D,C, D LFO change rate, well to be thats not music in my ears.
