I've always wanted to ask, though, what made you get into dubstep in 2005?
Haven't you heard dubstep from 2005?

I got into it in 2006, but it was just this amazing eye-opening shit. There's really no way to describe it without words like "amazing".

Yeah, first time I heard that intro I was getting ready for some fantastic garage lovely song, then it starts sounding like a 140bpm clipz song with that fucking STUPID 'bass' sound

haha it's all good man...tis only music after all :)

i bought those 'grime' cds on rephlex when they came out in 2003 which contained some of the earliest proper dubstep tunes...it has been gaining momentum though since 2001 albeit not with the name..

i properly got into the sound and came in my pants though upon hearing toasty 'the knowledge' and vex'd 'degenerate in 05'

I'm not sold on Sweet Shop. Its not what I'd call god-awful but I wouldn't choose to listen to it. I also really fucking hate his track Badman Sound. I just find it intensly irritating. Its not that I don't think he's a bad producer but these two tracks do nothing for me really.

A lot of these tunes are good fun but the shelf-life isn't much, the really deep stuff just doesn't seem to get boring. Emalkay has some brilliant ideas but is a bit overrated I think.

Ha I have wondered the same thing since first hearing it. I dunno how he is getting so much support, same with Badman.
