Good lookin, thanks. Seems SOTU is taking orders for Harmonimix already, just placed mine. GBP->USD conversion + shipping is rough, but well worth it.

a millis not meant to humanise wayne though, its meant to sound like some superhuman hip hop colossus! which it does. this mix makes it seem more instrospective and dreamy/blissy but the lyrics dont quite fit imo. if you wanna hear wayne get more 'human' and feelings-y then check out shoot me down on the carter III. thats a good song.fyrabanks wrote:Agreed that it's been done to death, but never this well, IMHO. Paraphrasing a friend, I don't think I've ever heard a remix of A Milli that humanizes Lil Wayne on the same level that some of his own tracks do. Also there's something very John Maus-esque about it, which I thought was rather interesting.
True, and I feel practically every other remix has failed to top that exact tone you're describing that comes with the original mix. Here the production takes the opposite direction, instead, leaving the vocals as a sort of jarring juxtaposition. Even the autotune, which is normally dehumanizing, serves to take away a lot of the bite from Wayne's delivery. But I suppose these things are all terribly subjective.spongebob wrote:a millis not meant to humanise wayne though, its meant to sound like some superhuman hip hop colossus! which it does. this mix makes it seem more instrospective and dreamy/blissy but the lyrics dont quite fit imo. if you wanna hear wayne get more 'human' and feelings-y then check out shoot me down on the carter III. thats a good song.
