bane keeps playing cause theyre amazing.
paint it black are meeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.
calling me a homophobe. also lumps you in with the generic hardcore jock idiot...... quel suprise.
you listen to some jerry's kids, gorilla biscuits, straight ahead, ssd and quit listening to pap.
does it? lol. i shouldnt have called you faggott. but its ususally someone trying to sound cool when they say hardcore is dead.
the boston hardcore is alive bro.

they are plenty of hardcore bands that are keeoing it alive. i agree. gorilla bisquits, straight ahead, of course those are the pioneers. but to say hardcore ended with them is ignorant. im sure if you were to ask those bands, has hardcore died? they might agree that it has become more commercial, just like anything. take a look at dubstep for example.

anyways. i respect your opinion.
you seem to miss the point that i was making.
hardcore is a very narrow genre with little room for innovation and meaning for it to be good it would have to be really good as very little will sound original. currently the motivations for kids/guys making bands is very different to the 80's (ie they arent angry enough or pissed off enough) and in a genre that is so crucially infused with passion if the motivations arent there it ends up sounding half hearted and wishwashy (let alone boring and samey). i love hardcore, i wouldnt say thats its actually dead but as there is so little room for progression the chances of anythign quite so good coming out is very slim.
to say hardcore continues to flourish is ignorant and ultimately you are only in denial, understandably its about something you love and i know i used to say the same but you will eventually smell the coffee.
ahhh word. i do understand what youre saying. but its hard for me because im right in the middle of it. im immersed in hardcore all around me. and it seems to be doing fine. i understand that "original" hardcore is not prevelant nowadays. but also i dont have an extreme hardcore standard. "if you dont sound like gorilla bisquits or youth of today, you arent hardcore and i dont like you." regardless of whatever the definition of what "hardcore" is, in my opinion bands like Have Heart, Bane, Soul Control, Verse... theyre trying/tried and did a good job.

i love hardcore. i'm more partial to mathcore though, i gotta admit. Dillinger Escape Plan, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Duck Duck Goose etc. Also a big fan of Alexisonfire & Every Time I Die even though they're not rly hardcore.

It was their old singer that was christian, who subsequently left 'to find god' i assume. The new replacement more than adequately fits his shoes. Anyway, not liking a band because of their religious persuasion is mighty gay, mighty mighty gay.

Hardcore equates too brostep for me. Both based around males and though guy mentalities. The only good hardcore these days is crust/d-beat and power-violence, maybe some 'screamo' for lack of better word. Screamo as in Orchid, Ampere, Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Power-violence will always be the true definition of hardcore for me. Fast, angry, no compromise, staying true to yourself, etc. Everything else is just bordering on gayness somehow. From Hatebreed to Have Heart, its all really gay somehow. They only two good bands like Have Heart that were actually any good are American Nightmare and Modern Life Is War (Rip both of them). After those two everything went to shit.

not really. Hardcore is a genre where beliefs are one of the most important factors. It's all about the meaning. And Christianity is one the most warped belief systems around.

my favourite hardcore band is snapcase for several reasons, progression through unlearning is a classic in my opinion.

I used to play in a hardcore band too, but we split up when I moved to Argentina a few years back. I was never really that much into hardcore, just enjoyed playing it fast and dirty. So many generic sounding bands it's ridiculous.
