toastyboy, come back!!!!! that entire 12" is just breathtaking. and nasty!
I always think to early Toasty when the snobs start taking about real dubstep This was one of the tunes that began my quest for a dubstep collection and ultimately lead me to where I am right now. RIP Toasty!

Persy also = Spliff that you dont share with anyone else. Thats Somerset slang so some of you guys might not be fully au fait with it.

I cant believe you feel this way... is it the wall of sound? I think he n dala are the one of the most inique sounding teams in dubstep these days, and the complexities of some of his modulations and distortion patterns are beyond belief... n its just generally the most MASSIVE, as in the definition of the word, sounding stuff Ive ever heard... I mean it really does sound like a 'big' sound with the way they use reverbs n thier choices in synths n shit. whens the last time you checked in on him man? Alot of his newer stuffs massive, but, you drop back to Bolibompa, n yeah, he WAS new then I think...
We cant all be geezers either man!!

Uggg idk I checked his myspace and I gave the frist tune a serious listen but I couldn't make it through 20 seconds of the next clip. It's not that he is a bad producer, the bass sounds just grate on me and everything else is about as cliche as it gets. I just don't see how you can put his productions up over or even equal to half the stuff that is out there these days. Let's just say I am pretty particular when it comes to filth. I guess I am particular when it comes to any sound I am a dj after all, I wouldn't be doing my job if I wasn't. Just saying none of these tunes have a chance of making the cut in one of my sets. It has nothing to do with how long he has been producing or anyone has producing I don't put tunes on a grading scale, I either like it or I don't and nothing else matters.

never heard of dayn before... took a listen. i liked it. i don't think it's better than I can make, but it's good. there's this one point where there was a build, and for a split second makes you think you're gonna hear a long reggae-ish sample, like i've heard so many times before.. but then hits you with some filth. took me off guard and i like it. little bit generic sounding at points.

Him n Dala will hold drops off for entire bars too, and then make up for it later in the song by dropping the second verse 2 bars early and finally the third verse on time... As a dj, its been the best compromise between the old 'drop shit outta time n theyll mix out later' concept and allowing us, at the same time, too choose mixouts where we normally would, just taking this into account.
Daladubz - Pink Elephants does it on the first verse (I think)
And Dayn - Whoop That does the entire balance-the-track map I outlined above.
