youngsta.
when i lived in the uk in 2002, i would shop blackmarket for all my drum and bass needs. i started getting real heavy into grime but was still rinsing out dark dnb sets. one day while having a convo with yunx about draw, music and club scenes, dubstep came up as a topic. i wasnt really aware of the sound except for an article i read about yunx in knowledge magazine. he played me request line which had just come into the shop. i liked what i heard but thought it was bare slow. i then learned about fwd>> and dmz and was invited to both events by the young youth himslef. i made it out to fwd>> where i met skream, hatcha, and crazy d briefly. maximun, karnage, jammer and skepta all blessed the night. the mix of grime and dubs and stupidly deep bass was enough to convert me. i still listen to dnb but ive hardly had a mix since then. mans a dubstepper now, get me?

thats exactly how i got inot it grand really, cause i was back on the rinse forums, n darkside n chef goin b2b on a wednesday night was the only grime/dubstep show wiv no mcs, and they both made me fuckin laugh!!!*Grand* wrote:all through rinse.. i was big on grime.. when i was a youngen.. so always locked into rinse, ths was back in 2003.. that sort of music though if i remeber corectly never really got played... over 2004.. started getting air time but was still big into my grime and garage.... so didnt really pay attention to it at all, but listened to it and jaz fm to help me go to sleep sufered from insomnia, and when there is shit on tv radio is all u got... them times then it wernt uncommon for a rins dj to play 3am-6am, listening to chef sundays 1-3 and darkside... i dunno started getting more into instrumentals, grew up a bit so all the hype in grime glyrics was starting to not be so appealing.. i was feeling more of the beats, wel these 2 guys started playing darker grime... thats what it was all about.. throwing in a fe dubstep tunes..now and again...and it toook of from mid 2004... and here i am now
big up chef-darkside forputting this music into the spotlight..
