To be honest I'm not feeling your beats/templates. You guys need any composers??
Appreciate your honesty, not all of them appeal to everyone. we get that.
We are definitely open to contracting with new composers. Please send sound reels or soundcloud examples to info at beatelite.com.

Thomas33 wrote:Hi Fellas,
Thomas here. I'm the marketing guy for beatelite.com. First off, I always appreciate forums for their candidness and this one is definitely no exception. I'm mostly posting just to say thank you. No really, we value and listen to all feedback -regardless of how we get it. We're here to grow and learn as we do something new. We strive to make our message appropriate and relevant. If it's not, we'll adjust it or take a new route altogether - no pride here. I see a lot of you feel the "make music fast" image seems to make the idea seem too canned or 'paint by numbers'. We were a bit concerned about it coming across that way so it's good to hear some other's opinion on it. We take full responsibility and we'll see if we can come up with something that might fit the bill a bit better. Thanks for that!
As for the template concept, we definitely realize that it won't work for everyone and we are 1000% OK with that. We have heard everything from "Who the F*** are you and why the F***would anyone buy a template???" to "this is the best idea ever". Lucky for us, we get more of the latter. We knew getting into this, we would get some people upset and draw a lot of criticism from the "purists". We're definitely OK with that too. While our templates (like sample packs, midi packs, software, you name it) are designed to help people get started, provide a shortcut through work-flow, or even to be used as a learning tool, It's not a replacement for talent or creativity- we would like to believe people could figure that out. However, we still do our best never to insinuate otherwise. If you feel we are, please voice it- we're listening. I'm sure you would all agree- there are plenty of tools to make you sound good-but takes work to be good. Like Slothrop said, either people will make something good with them, or they won't.
Looking forward to any constructive feedback.
Hi thomas. You make some very valid points. And we appreciate you coming here and voicing your opinion.
But i think we are all scared that by doing these templates, new and nieve producers are going to flood the scene with poorly made tunes (well produced but musically rubbish). Tunes that will be posted here and scorned upon as we will probably will tell that they are from the same template.
Personally i think what your doing is great, letting people as you said on the website "reverse engineer" a track. This can be a vital stepping stone for someone trying to get a more professional sound.
The bits i disagree with is firstly the push-button-music image I find very amusing. I think you should maybe steer clear of the "make music fast" route and provide the templates as a learning curve. I believe people will respect the idea more and it will soon enough circumvent through these dusty old forum halls.
Awaiting a reply

Totally. Because I know I sure had a helluva time learning to arrange song structures and wound up reverse engineering other peoples' songs I liked to figure stuff out - if the approach was tailored more to that educational perspective then it'd be easier to see this filling a need, and not just as marketing to the 12 year olds that want to be a DJ-Producer this week or nobs that want to mass-manufacture hypershitty trance throwaways.
"I mayde uh hole psy-goa album in 1 day fanks to deez templatez! "
Because in the end, learning to make music isn't THAT fucking hard... if you really want to, anyway. And marketing the idea to newcomers that you can just bypass all that learning garbage and smack a button and WHOOSH! INSTA-BANGER! is disingenuous at best and mercenary at worst.

selling something that will help people learn = good
selling shorcuts that will end up doing more harm than good = bad

somebody is defo going to learn from these, but you need to remove "tired of listening to other peoples music?" from your selling point

I must say, you gentlemen have really provided some very intelligent and valid points. I really appreciate you giving your feedback and promise you will see your suggestions implemented. In fact, we have already made a few minor changes and will continue to make more. Like I said- there's no pride here. Between us, it''s always a challenge to learn how to 'sell' something that can be surrounded with so much emotion. Our goal is to help people learn or just ease their work-flow- so we'll be sure our messaging reflects this.
@depone - I completely understand the fear. It was something we thought about for some time. In the end, we decided that since we would've killed for something like this when we were first learning, going forward and seeing what happens was worth it. As for people flooding the scene with well produced but musically poor songs, as much as I hate to say it, I believe that's something we'll never get away from- with or without our tools.

That's true. Well, thanks for coming on here with a congenial attitude and letting us know where you're coming from.
Cheers

I have to disagree with you there. I think peeps are going to use this to learn to become great producers, and i think they will make progress a lot easier than looking at a blank project. who knows it might inspire the next Mala or Reso... Basically i think people are being too quick top criticize before thinking about the pros.

maybe it's just the way i think of music/maiking music.
i believe in starting from zero and getting up. qualitywise, not fame. i am very happy, that i started doing this thing dubstep without actually knowing what it is. i was turning knobs, trying to figure out what it is... i actually didn't produce in the beginning, i was doing jam sessions. we wherre connected and we jamed together on reason. it was fun. and we learned so much.
sure, it took longer, way longer. but i appreciate this. and i respect people who take the more complicated BUT more self-building way.
what actually makes me think bad of this concept is the mentality behind it. tho it's the mentality of our society. to make things as fast as possible, to archieve aims as fast as possible, not to get deeply into something, rather just scratch the surface.
where has the mentality of builing up everything for your own gone? i mean, sure... ask others for help.
but damn it... do it yourself!

I'm definitely with you on the whole from-the-ground-up approach and I think there's definitely a lot of impatience surrounding production these days, I guess it works for some people but I just prefer the whole learning experience that comes with starting from nothing and taking time to understand everything
