Well I'm sure the softwrae guys will grunt at me but.... I have a mackie desk and I truely believe that when I bounce my Ti through it I get a better sound.... Plus its down to the way I work! I read a Nosia interview a while back and they were banging on about how they get their bass lines so complex! Its not strange fro them to max out the cpu with just a bassline which they will then bring into a new project. So once I get a nice sound out the TI I'll bounce, process more, bounce again and process again and so on until I get what I want! I swear this way of working has given my tracks a real boost in quality but thats just me, sure plenty off the software, all in one box will disagree but its down to personal choice!

I should also point out my PC is only a P3 3.04.... Its an old Carillion Audio PC but as they say, if its not broke dont fix it!

CB also does the bounce within the host but again for me thats not gonna work as I want it to run through the desk where I can EQ the sound before recording it in.

I can see why some people dont like it, I'm having a few issues but I have to say I only opened it last night and I have a beat, vox with FX's and starting b.line so it cant be that hard! I'm very interested in the mangle side of things and like just dropping all these new presets onto my sounds, deffo can see how once you know it that it'll be a lot quicker that CB but I think I'll take Risk's (hello by the way brother, hope ya well matey?!) lead and create in AB and finish in CB!

As I'm starting with AB this week I'll post any q's in here

P.S. This is how serious I am... I went out and bought the Computer Music AB Live special so I have lots of reading to do!

Abletons owns in many other ways, flexibility mainly, and just ease of use and getting ideas down, but still getting used to it.

what i wanna see is modulation options in the 'add vst to any part' section, envelopes so the fx doesnt have to be static..... this is where abletons clip envelopes win over for me..... why doesnt cubase have beat markers in the pitch envelope window?? really annoying guessing where half way is.....
