I can't be assed to add thousands of quotes but I'll answer anyway:
You see, your fucking problem is you seem to think production values are above music. I've listened to Mt Eden tunes on loop for hours because I actually like what I listen to, I don't even fuck know you, your music or anything. So feel free to brag about higher production values and how awesome produced-to-death music us. I'll come back to you twat once I stumble upon your music and actually like what I hear. You could make your music by singing into a stupid microphone, if I like it, I like it. And as I said, many of my friends who are God knows not into wob wob shit (like I am) dig Mt Eden. You can call him whatever you want, I call him "a guy who makes music people that don't have their head up their ass probably like".
Oh and I like Clipz btw., too. And Clownstep if you will. Melodish? Seriously, have you ever listened to I think "Still Alive", it just sounds awesome and I like to have it playing. And I might have confused your argument against Mt Eden and the likes to be mainstreamish instead of your super-dark-nobody-with-a-right-mindset-can-enjoy-this-shit Dubstep or whatever you may like. But if there's something I'm sure about, I like the melodies and the overall ambience of Mt Eden tracks. You go listen to whatever you want, keep moaning.

when I'm listening to tunes away from my DAW I couldn't care less about production values as long as it sounds good, my problem with Mt. Eden is that the production is mediocore and it sounds pretty mediocore to match, it's not even a new sound he's got going so I can't understand why a producer who is average is every respect got so damn popular
btw
You go listen to whatever you want, keep moaning

To the drunk bullet guy, have you been to brostep forum? I think you might feel more comfortable over there.

Well I have to disagree, I really like what I hear from Mt Eden but I have to admit, I never got me some higher quality MP3s so it might be very well be possible things I blamed on YouTube might be actually shitty from the start. Still, I don't see magic there, people seem to like, most of them - from what I can read here - seem to be not from the hardcore Dubstep crowd but he seems to be able to make stuff many people like. It all just sounds like "Man he's shite, why don't people like my ultra dark shit na na na na". Guess what, most people apparently don't like what you like, but please, quit hating on others that hit the nerve of most, it makes you look like a complete tool.
And I don't get your last quote, I didn't say he should shut up, I said go ahead, moan, but it's not based on any argument that matters. Production values my ass, a superb mixed track with crappy melodies doesn't get me dancing, good melodies that might be mediocre as you call it probably would. Although I wouldn't want to listen to Mt Eden in a club, it's just no music made to dance to.
What bothers me even more is as soon as some people start to like stuff that isn't considered true to the spirit or hardcore, Dubstep is about to die. Why don't you just make your music, if the Dubstep crowd or any crowd for that matter likes it, good for you. If they don't, well, go ahead and blame how the genre is dead and anybody still listening must be retards because they don't like monotonous crap.
Oh and nowaysj: Fuck off, kid.

The use of the word kid reveals your age and maturity.
That was a helpful suggestion. Brostep forum is full of people who like the music you like and are not into this monotonous shit. Try and give someone a helpful tip and see what happens...

Oh noes, now it's ON! Listen, if Mt Eden is Brostep, then I don't know. I like a variety of music in contrast to what seems the majority of close-minded people here. You don't bring shit to the discussion, heck you don't even seem to know what I was talking about the last 4 posts or so.

just because your music is popular (especially among mainstream listeners) doesn't mean it's good, in fact more and more recently it's the opposite.

That's pure rubbish. Talking about good in the way of musical value? It entertains tons of people. It must be good, else it wouldn't sell that good. Or are we talking about production values again? You don't want to tell me commercial music is done by amateurs, now do you? I don't like everything that's in the top40, but I like a good share of it and I once again want to emphasize my musical horizon is quite broad, I like really a lot of music. If you say the Top40 is rubbish overall, well I won't disagree, it's your taste but the majority of people likes it. This is what I'd call good?

Dude, okay,
1: your a knob, because whyrez IS a way better producer then mt. eden. That man has a gift with melody and depth in tracks, youd be right to quit arguin with him n take note of what something both well produced and well concieved creatively is, because it sure as fuck shit isnt mt eden, with his clipped out basslines and "my samples are my only redeeming factor' bullshit. Any 'melody' you speak of is because he is doing remixes and extensive sampling. That is not a show of his production gifts, rather for his skill as a composer and an aritst, you should be looking towards the FEW aspects of his tracks which he actually writes. His basslines typically center on random note bullshit, and from the stnadpoint of someone who has a very deep respect for music theory, it sounds completely awful compositionally... Though his synth programming DOES show alot of potential as far as patch design goes, this cant even begin to overshadow his TERRIBLE mixdowns and NON EXISTANT MELODIES OR AMBIENCE OUTSIDE OF SAMPLING.
And dude 2, your throwing hate at some of the more respected members of the board, and not all of it seems very grounded. Your attitude is real out of context in what could have been a hearty debate, and now, a whole thread of people think your basically a tit for having terrible judgement on tunes, not understanding what 'melodic' means, and for being a general cock towards our cool peoples like Whyrez n noways.

Oh my god, I don't give a rats as if he is a good producer or artist or painter or smashes the keyboard with his dick. I like his songs, period. And YouTube's viewer count says the same. You can hate on him as much as you want. Maybe he's "only" a talented remixer. I don't care. Nobody of you made the tunes he made and I like them, so he is the one I have to thank for it.
I probably will get skullfucked for this, but what about Burial then? His music is awesome, no question but what does the throw together? Awesome beats, pitched vocals and vinyl crackle in a great way. Why's nobody hating on him then, if it's frowned upon if you are talented in picking and mixing great samples. You guys focus way too much on the effort spent. I don't care if Mt Eden didn't twiddle knobs for 10 days straight to make all the sounds himself. I and others like what we hear, you can hate as much as you want, he gets respect for that and it seems like people all the big guys here think he doesn't deserve any.
Talking about the respected members: I didn't look at any post counter when I wrote what I wrote, now that I did I reckon most of the people that "talked" to me in this thread let the douche out big time. Yes, so did I but at least I tried to bring arguments but on this forum, it is a lost cause. I don't care who says something, if they tell crap in my eyes I will say so.
What's even better is that once I started expressing my opinion which obviously goes against the hivemind, I was told to GTFO. Yeah right, because liking Mt Eden makes me less of a person that wants to get into production. Retards everywhere.
One last thing: I have to admit I know nothing about music theory and most people don't know either. But in my ears it sounds good what I hear and to others, it seems to do the same. How come in the DJing threads people are reasonable and say "It's no problem if you have a few fuckups, most people can't tell anyway, and the ones that can are DJs themselves" and it's okay there. This is the same situation, the dumb masses (me obv. included) doesn't seem to know or care so why bother with your elitism? Go on with your circlejerking of how bad this dumbass Mt Eden is, he gets the views on YouTube.
