jazz - from davis, coltrane & other pioneers to modern sounds
dnb - deep, tech; photek, teebee, klute, ed rush, optical, matrix
experimental - four tet, cex, xingu hill, scorn, this morn omina, enduser
hiphop - roots manuva, aesop rock, subtle, dj signify, prefuse 73
postrock - mogwai, sigur rós, red sparrowes, isis
breaks - si begg, chris carter, koma & bones...

etc etc i bet you got the picture

After watching that movie 24hr party people I been listening to a lot of new wave.

Personally I'm thinking now the new wave scene started off much as dubstep did.. underground music that reflected the mood of the times with a small following that grew and grew.

bloody interesting!! I have to investigate further

I have noticed a directly proportionate relationship between amount of weed smoked and regularity of Kyuss listening. In my experience anyways.
