Well obviously some real tools will beat an iPhone any day. The point is just to be able to have a little something with which you can transfer ideas from your head into something concrete while you're on the go.

Hey does anyone use one of those dub effects programs? I was checking out dub siren and it seemed to be what I was looking for but the fact that it can tap into internet radio streams was weirding me out like I just want to use it to add old school sounds to my live dj mix. Anyone know or even another app? It's only a couple bucks not that big of a deal but I hate spending any money on something I don't use.

this thing is badass

user interface is nice, editing in the piano roll takes about 15 minutes to get used to but after that its painless

the TRG-16 (drum pad) has 3 busses with reverb, delay, and a hp/lp/bp resonant filter. each pad can be sent to one of the 3 busses. 16 pads, samples can be loaded to any of them, can record from microphone, samples can be played regularly, reversed, or reg/rev or rev/reg. attack/release can be adjusted on each sample, key mode can be set to trigger, hold, or loop. samples can be transposed +/- 24 semitones and fine tunes +/- 1/50s of a semitone. has autotrigger that can be set to 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, or 1/32

mixer for each instrument,

two sends, a reverb and a digital delay capable of chorus, flanger, delay, and x-delay. 12 different spaces for the reverb (not really customizable but they sound pretty good)

max tempo 240, minimum 40. capable of 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, and 7/4 time signatures.

I see it has swing was wondering about that. I have yet to really get an in depth look. Not sure how to input the wavs. Would like to see an eq of some sort on an update. It's pretty amazing for a phone app tho. You could for sure get a nice skeleton of a song down with this

Yeah that looks pretty sweet too. The app store is going to own my wallet. There are about 2 or 3 other things I am waiting on to come out too like Griid and this other thing I forget what it's called now but damn I did pick the right phone. You can argue iPhone vs Andriod all day feature wise but as far as apps go the iPhone is the right phone for the electronic musician... well any musician really.

i think i love this thing more than a real DAW

something about the way it forces you to work really helps the creative process

i've just written more tunes on this than I have in the past 4 months on my computer

Dub Siren is mad fun..

I don't know how much I am going to use the siren bit but I didn't realize until I bought it that you can stream pretty much all the dubstep stations with it including rinse subfm and dubstepfm and it does multitasking so you can listen while locked. Well worth the 4 bucks.

Got myself an iphone about a week ago and nanostudio is definitely the fucking tits XD I'm liking your little tune there man, it's definitely a much more powerful program than you would expect from a phone 0.o

I've not made anything other than wee drum doodles really yet but I started a tune earlier where all the drum hits were recorded beatboxing samples so i'll post that up when I finish it, turning out pretty interesting. The audio sampling and editing features are really surprisingly good!!

Noise.io is a software synth similar to the kaos pad. Get get some nice dubstep wubs using it!
