It seems many think so, while others see Dubstep in its infancy. I'm sure a lot of you don't sit around dissecting music history and theory, but I'm quite into that sort of thing. I want to see this genre flourish indefinitely, and the founders have created such a platform.

Over-commercialization and superficiality led to the demise of Hip-hop, fragmentation led to Punk's decline. The future of Dubstep is unwritten, but all of us who are passionate about this thing should get off their ass and do something, whether it be as simple as contributing their thoughts to a board such as this one (all of your thoughts on this board are reaching more people than the most widely distributed zines of the past have), make music and thus demonstrate your interpretation of the art, promote shows, design flyers, shirts, stickers, something. DIY. Underground. That is the connection between Dubstep and Punk.

If you watch the American Hardcore movie/doc, and insert Dubstep when they say Hardcore, you will see a lot of similarities. Most people (nearly all) in Punk and HC despise all things electronic, and don't even regard it as music. As a Dubstepper don't be so close minded, and learn from both the successes and failures of the greater Punk culture and movement. When I read interviews with people like Hatcha and Joe Nice and other elders in this movement, I take heed to what they say. And while I adopt no ones opinions as my own, I give respect to their views as a junior belt to their Grandmaster ranking.

Anyway, Punk's not dead, and Dubstep is definitely alive and kicking. The next several years should be really interesting...

Punk is very much alive there is a huge underground scene not just in the states but everywhere and dubstep is barely even being recognised in the states and people LOVE it no way is it dead even DJ's that are mainly hip hop and house are stepping into dubstep because it's taking off rapidly.

I'm not aware of any fall relating to ICP. They're obviously not exactly virtuosos lrically speaking, but they have a tremendous fan base. They are definitely far from finished, and in fact have a bunch of second and third tier artists on their label that rap like them like Twiztid, Blaze and others, and they have the Dark Lotus "supergroup" thing as well. There are probably more Juggalos now than ever, they have jewelery with their logo, sneakers...

In terms of their business savvy; impressive. Their beats; a lot of them are hard as fuck to me, trippy and bombastic. Their rapping skills; sub-par. The fact that they wear makeup/gimmick; cool, I'm into theatrical shit (check Otto Von Shirach). They pro wrestle= awesome! Their fans; well Juggalos must be happy because they are listed by the feds and other agencies as a gang now, and they think they're hard to begin with. I'm sure they feel that validates them. People in my culture beat up Juggalos typically when the two combine, but hippies and Punks fall victim to the same fate all too often as well...

So I disagree that ICP has experienced any "fall", and rather see them as being a strong music business entity for years to come without end. Silly? Weak? Talentless? U decide? I'd rather listen to ICP than House, Techno, Trance, elevator music, R+B, or Garage, but I detest softer shit as a rule. Hip-hop or Rap is usually electronically-based music as it's made on drum machines and computers these days. Mike E. Clark from their crew makes some hard beats. I'll take his instrumentals over some pussy House-type shit any day.

Now that I've alienated myself from some of you, we don't have to all listen to the same musics when we are not listening to Dubstep. I love Dubstep, I like Jungle, D'n'B, Gabber, love Atari Teenage Riot, like Dub Reggae, love Skinhead Reggae, Hardcore, Punk, Oi...

My opinion of the rise and fall of ICP= it is non-existant.

well judging from your previous posts in this thread, your choice of words are anything but concise. im sorry if you feel like you've got a lot of things to say that's fair enough, but im saying that the more you use crazy adjectives and big words, the more you undermine your argument.
and as for intelligence? to be honest, i don't feel that there is any need to prove it to anyone in a post about filthy dubstep. you obviously do x
