Yeah I am not the biggest Rage fan but that guy has a totally unique guitar style. They have some conventional riffs but there is just as much unconventional stuff in there too.
and I think that they do the conventional stuff very well, there are some riffs they do that are really basic that are still really kick ass, and u start to wonder why no one did em before that.
Yes they use the classic standard pentatonic scale stuff, as most of artists do, but their real strenght is in their groove... it's tight, daaamn tight! And of course the innovative Morello style...
