Re: NEED DUB DROP ASSISTANCE...
Can you guys please elaborate a little bit more? What's an FM synth? I have a bunch of synthesizers to choose from in Reason 5, and I can add Scream4 Distortion FX too...If someone on here had Reason it would help a lot more but I'm glad my question is being clearly understood now.

It's just a different wobble for a couple of beats. A more subdued one with less midrange grunge. Falls into the same bracket as the more general technique of "emphasize the backbeat by cutting everything out of the downbeat".halifaxer12 wrote:INo, not the kick drum...It's a bass sound. not reason specific, but the general ideas are in there so you just need to apply them to reason

Just like everyone said, there is no proper way to do a 'bass drop'. There is a very simple formula for this.
|------ No Bass ------| ---- |----- Bass -----|>>>>> etc.
The intense drop comes from proper song composition. I use FL Studios and first come up with a few quick sounds that I am happy with and than record them into a .wav file. If you want your sound to have a 'racing/climbing' effect up to the drop just add some slide. Resampling is key here and slicing up your recorded .wav file will allow you to manipulate the timing and composition of your 'bass drop' along with the drum beat.
