It goes without saying theres going to be more than enough contributes towards this, should it happen that is.

NOOOOOO 99% of things that involve a group of people in the production forum fails before it even starts

I would nominate myself to get involved in this but if anyone submitted some wobble-filth step, I would have to wack out a par. I'm to bias and don't like the idea.

I would be happy to help choose what tracks go on this, Im not really biased towards any style and Im not fussed about putting my own tunes up. See if this thing dies or not though. Whoever decides they want to run this PM if you want some help picking tunes.

I haven't got any problems with the 3 of us although I did want to submit tracks :\ would people have a problem with me being judged just by the other two?
Weirdly Ledgend4ry you were the first person I thought of when I was thinking of who would judge this but we do need *some* filth, there's definitely people on this forum representing that side of things pretty well and they deserve to be included as much as the deep people.
If nobody complains within a reasonable amount of time I'm gonna assume the 3 of us are judging and start/get after empire to start a tune submission thread.
As for those links you've posted, as far as I can see that's our biggest problem, how on earth are we gonna get a website together if it takes this much effort and debate just to decide the bare principles of the thing?

i'd hardly call 2 pages (mainly tune posts) in 2 days taking a long time to progress with brainstorming ideas
half the problem and why the other attempts failed is everyone is so damn impatient and wants instant results
lay out the logistics well thought out first and maybe it'll finally work this time

I think that what this needs to be successful is a person to take charge and make sure that things keep going forward.
I am willing to be that man.
As far as selection of tracks to be on the album, i 100 percent believe that this should be left up to a committee of 3 to 5 people with a good ear for talent and generally just people who know what this stuff is supposed to sound like.
We should start by figuring out who would be best to sit on this panel.

This is where your nominations for Judges go guys.
I've also gone ahead and taken the liberty of creating a Soundcloud group for submissions. As was stated earlier i totally agree that it would be a lot easier to just add tracks to this group.

I gotta run, but i'll be back shortly.
Cheers guys!

*cough*i think i'll start a net label*cough*
lets layout what's needed in resources first guys and why successful labels are that, a checklist if you will
1. hosting
2. web design or blog based, graphic/art design
3. an orderly way of submitting demos and selection
4. people to do those selections
5. once selected a mastering engineer (for the love of god please) not just wack an l2 on the master
6. promotion (street team if you will)
7. distribution method that can handle high volume if necessary but more importantly file format options
things not decided on yet and people are already moving...
slow your role people

7. distribution method that can handle high volume if necessary but more importantly file format options = bandcamp?

I thought this was a really good idea at first but at the end of the day it would probably only work if it started with one person with a really clear vision of what they wanted to get done and most of the details already worked out. Then they could just post a thread asking for tunes and
bring it to the forum at that stage.
Bringing it here before It's barely even a concept and with very little knowledge of how to set something like this up has left it doomed to fail IMO

it's impossible to get any decisions made if your not willing to make them yourself and leave it to some sort of democracy when there's so many different opinions here. Basically without someone holding the rains this horse is gonna run the hell off.

that's one option
like i said this shit should be planned out before diving in headfirst
it's easy to have a good idea it's actually implementing it and taking control and making it happen that seperates failure from success

Good idea logicpro, it could essentially go like this then..
1. = Bandcamp
2. = Anyone with a basic understanding of fireworks/photoshop, bandcamps are easy to set up
3. = soundcloud
4. people to do those selections << Someone just needs to take control and say THIS IS WHATS HAPPENING and unless lots of people suddenly complain, that's a go ahead. I would do it myself but I feel OP would get annoyed though I (no offense OP) doubt that they are up to the job of pushing this forward from what I've seen so far.
5. = Depone/Lowpass/someone like that
6. promotion (street team if you will) << dunno bout this
7. =bandcamp

does bandcamp always ask for your email for delivery or is that just up to the user cause i always found that to be annoying as fuck especially for free downloads
click here>choose format>enter email>check your email for link>click link for redirect
ffs just let me download
that's where having a proper host comes in handy
http://tentativerecordings.com/downloads.html see click and magically delivered
