just like any other daw, got its flaws and it got its strengths...

(ive personally had a really bad experience with digidesign and protools but that is personal... yet, some other people think its the best match to their workflow)...

however if u think Live is complicated... pt will probably be... FL studio and Live are the easiest ones to play with at first because they are really plug n play... (thats what i think). Fl may be a little easier then Live even!

However, if ur ''how is it question'' implied an ''is it a good software'' question... the answer is the one i just gave : just like any other daw, got its flaws and it got its strengths

im not being a smartass.. its the truth (i guess)... and its really why EVERYBODY who start keep asking around runnin like headless chickens. :o

its also why u wont find the answer on a forum... ever. not even dubstepforum. its because there is no ''better'' daw.

there is no answer to the better daw question and there will never be.

the real thing to know is WHICH ONE SUITS U BEST.. and the only way to know it is to try them. most of them are avaliable in demo version and u have youtube videos all over the place... go watch them and pick the one that MOTIVATES U THE MOST...

THEN come back here and ask SPECIFIC questions about it... that we we will really be able to help u and the people who'll provide the answers will know what the fuck they are talking about :h:

I totally get ur point. 4 months ago i wanted to buy a new daw for my mac and i was torn apart between cubase and logic... i posted on here and most people told me to pick one and stick with it.

i do understand the nature of a young rookie's anxiety... however... it should not paralyze u

the only pieces of advice that was ever useful were the ones i could understand from my previous experience...

since u dont seem to have any with daws! (nopunintended)... i suggest u just go on youtube, look at how they work thru tutorials.... take the weekend... download a demo version of each ones of ur favourites... and pick the one that seems the most FUN.

here's a list of daws that i judge good : (add some if i forget)

(in no particular order)

- Fl studio
- Abelton Live
- Cubase / nuendo
- Logic
- Pro Tools
- Reason
- Reaper
- then u have the more esoteric ones like - Renoise, Sony Acid or plain old Cool edit pro... which can also allow one to make wonders
...

good luck

and

..

.....

HAVE FUN

i reccommed cubase just because its what i use, most people will just reccommend what they use, if you have a mac get logic coz its cheap and you get an amazing amount of content, it doesnt really matter what sequencer you use, most dubstep artists use Massive to get the majority of synth sounds, i use Cubase and Massive predominantly, Z3Ta+ is a decent synth aswell, so theres my reccommendation

Start out with some little things like Garageband, Fruity Loops, Dubturbo, etc. Then I'd move on to Reason, you can do pretty much everything with it, and it's not to hard to get some basic tracks out, but also has the capability to make some really complex intricate tracks.

logic 5.5 ftw...download outdated software formerly owned by a company that's no longer in existence (i think) and never feel guilty about yapping shit from online ever again!

As much as I love fruity loops its starting to annoy me. I like everything in renoise except for the weird matrix but I guess I learn that in time.

very simple

try it out. watch the introduction and it will all make perfect sense.
The renoise interface seems really fuckin weird to me, not very intuitive at all :p:
