why should i?

because i have a different opinion to yours? you don't think his success is more down to clever marketing rather than the music? this is how pop music works, people buy into an image.

yes because no matter how much you think that he is just one big pop music marketting campaign which is half true but theres one big thing you missed out the music part, i personnaly think he is a great producer you may not and thats fair enough but you cant say that its all about the mouse head when it clearly isnt, when people go to one of his gigs they go for the music, when people buy his songs they buy it becuase they like the stuff they're hearing not becuase it has a mouse head on the front

Keep it to the main forum at least. I know it's the popular thing now to bash [whoever] but it's disheartening to see it spread to other producers.

I am pretty sick of seeing hatred toward people who are successful

turn it around, be proud of other peoples achievements and perhaps one day you will also be as lucky

keep the shitty negative attitude and you will go nowhere in the music business

don't like it.. don't listen to it

focus on the positive, work hard and you'll achieve your desired goals

It's MUSIC. People generally LISTEN to it first before they find anything out about the artist. And you were told to shutup because you made a very wide, sweeping generalization that is completely false.

Wow this thread is so off-topic.

I asked everyone what you thought of Deadmau5's new track "raise your weapon" ------> (Production wise)

I didn't ask you if you liked him, I didn't ask if you if you think he is overated, I didn't ask if you like his mouse head, I didn't ask if you think he's a pop star, I didn't ask if you think he's cool or nice or a dick.

I'll say it again since nearly everyone obviously didn't read the op

What do you think of Deadmau5's new track "raise your weapon" ------> (Production wise)

That means you can have one of two answers, Yes, or no. <----- then you post why you liked it, or why you don't like it. <---- not "deadmau5 is overated." once again ( Why you like it, or Why you don't.)

If we are to discuss the production we at least need a proper rip to listen to. The one in OP is obviously messed up.

Slightly better (switch to HD):

part two : i think he apprehends dubstep as he does with overcompressed electro and while i still can hear the ''deadmau5'' sound somewhere in it, which is respectable.. it ends up sounding like shit. i still like the fact that he didnt go all brosteppy and hi mid range (hes kinda low midrange with a lot of superhigh fuss).. like hes still trying to achieve depth (better then me in any fashion)...

however, its painful to listen to... and i guess it proves the genuine importance of dynamics and the whole letting-stuff-breathe idea... if u ask me.

also, deadmau5 is overrated and it aint a comment im making in relation to this thread, its simply something i repeat everytime i hear/see/read/feel someone talking about the mau5 since the day i first heard of it.

Iz it Bettah :D???

for what it's worth, whenever people talk about how "sick" the deadmau5 show was, it's about how he's got some new helmet that's now got LED/lasers/invisibilty/teleportation powers. People come for the music and stay for the stage theatrics. Nothing wrong with that. But I still find his music to be generally boring.

His music sounds like he's rolled his fucking brains out, which I think he has. I prefer either jump up (rusko style) or deep and dark (excision style), not the in the middle kind of vibe that mau5's got going on.
