i think three decks can easily sound a bit cluttered particularly with bass heavy music like dub step. i guess it's just about what you're comfortable with as a dj though.
i really enjoy it with techno... get two tracks rocking along together then build in a third and tear out one or both of the first tracks, then repeat.
constant mix pressure. sounds fucking sick when done properly. particularly when you've got a nice long track with a repetitive melody, like a basic channel piece, and then switch up two different heavy bassline tracks underneath... it's like making your own beats on the fly.
would love to see yunx do one as he is super tight with two and could easily pull it off. his mix stlye and selection would really complement it too.

yeh i sneak in a few 3 deck mixes most shows.. opened with one last night, different approach to how youngsta did it though. theres so many ways of cutting up 3 tunes, still experimenting really.

I recorded a 4 deck mix for the first Rinsessions CD pack - see if you can get hold of it - 51 tunes in 60 minutes.
Also did a 3 deck set at 333 once, and also at Herbal.
Amazing set - 51 in 60. Carry on like that and you'll put Jeff Mills out of biznis.

Skism asks for 3 decks in his tech rider and uses them pretty well. I heard Emalkay does 3 decks.

Say Yunx a few weeks ago in Belgium, and he used 3 decks as well.
Went mentall when he suddenly started using the 3rd deck
Absolute banger!!
And Chef a few weeks ago in Belgium; 3 decks as well! b2b LD though, but still, utter madness.
All vinyl though, so respect to the Chefal!
DJ's using 3 decks (vinyl) = my biggest respect! Pure class imo, we need more of those!

shame Carl Cox took the path of darkness back in the days when he was a Jungle/Hardcore DJ.... he'd be smashing 4 deck dubstep mixes now!!!

just a guess. but splitting each deck into three frequencies could help.
play the lows on a heavy bass tune, the mid's of another, and mix in some high hats and vocals from the third deck maybe.
but of course worry about the key clashes as well.
