I remember seeing them when i was about 14 and they use Electribes, kaoss pads and grooveboxes live. Still a terrible video though -w-
This. I been into ES for years, but also been into dubstep for years. I don't rate the dubstep elements in their music but ah well, just brush over it.
To me, the kinda shit that's in ES stuff is just for mass appeal. Rou's solo efforts at dubstep (as Rout) are actually decent.

But then, we've had so many debates like this before on here haha.

come to think of it, has anyone mentioned Carcass? most of there tunes are around the 140-150bpm and generally have some what of 2steppy feel... or atleast a bouncy beat that reminds me of ruckspin's jibber haha

exactly, they tried to be all trancey when they thought it was cool.. realized it wasn't and tried to be dubsteppy, unfortunately for them dubstep as they see it the kind that is actually shit and considered a joke, not cool either.
i checked the singers tunes as a dubstep producer and they were just as shit as the band.

And doing quite well from it, that's always the way isn't it.

When they first come out, they were absolute huge around my area, the scene kids were going crazy.

I'm not gonna say I didn't enjoy a fair few of their songs, but I never thought they were making anything that fresh, but everybody thought it was the most original thing.

They have lost all their teenybop fan base now though, so I don't think they'll be together much longer.
