I dont know about his album Entroducing, but I'm pretty sure Pre-emtive Strike was produced ENTIRELY of samples from ancient records he hunted down in thrift shops and whatnot. Actually, but dont quote me on this, I think I remember him being in the Guiness Book for having the first major release LP to be created 100% from sampled records (which if accurate is kinda silly i know but still worth mentioning.) Check him if you haven't, even after 12 years he's still my absolute favorite artist to chill to or jam on my pod while walking around downtown!
Not his most technical work, but still one of my all time favs,
Building Steam With a Grain of Salt (from Entroducing) :

Cool vid showing where he got the samples for the tune above:

This post reminds me there is still good in the world

keep at it bro, im sure you put out some sick stuff, and it will only get better.
This has got to be a joke.
On the DJ Shadow side of things, I agree he`s a badman.
Entroducing is such a good album.
It still gets major airplay.
Have you checked out his I Gotta Rock EP?
also great

2562 was creating minimal, deep dubstep well before it became "cool". Tracks like Basin Dub and Enforcers put him on the map.

this is gonna be interesting, clips sounding nice..
actually just reading the fact that it's all sample-based makes me respect the man when I think of the state of electronic music in the world of today.. everyone banging bought out royalty free samplepacks and the rising uncreative use of 808s being big upped is what is making me give up music tbh

hmm.. listened to the tracks. GORGEOUS sound design considering the source. perky soulful beats.... it still sounds like 2562. the guy is cool, fer sho, but i don't by any means think of him as godly.. i dunno where he gets the rep frankly, but maybe i just never really felt his stuff.... it's a little TOO mysterious and vibey for me i think. and this is coming from someone who loves minimal tech...
but DAMN that kick n clap is nice. as for the rest of the sampling.. eh. it's not like it's sooo tough to create eerie soundscapes out of samples. props to the dude tho.. it's cool to use his birth year as a starting point

Mostly this. Shadow reigns as far as I'm concerned.
when it comes to sampling nobody touches Burial, J Dilla, Boards of Canada and Four Tet. NOBODY.
FaltyDL surely?

I never got FaultyDL tbh. I've never heard anything I've actually LIKED by him. It's not bad, just doesn't seem any good to me.

Fair enough, think he's probably my favourite artist atm but can see why you think that
