brostep can be brostep without shirtless moshers.
In others words then brostep is a other name for commercial dubstep... right ? wrong ?
no, it just happens to be the most visible style of "dubstep"

doesn't have anything to do with popularity, but i think the term "bro" was used because of the type of people who tend to gravitate towards the overly aggressive sound

nope. that's a misconception as much as the term itself is (and a cop out as well)
sure some people think this way, but it definitely isn't the norm
a lot of us don't even use the term
it sounds as silly as liquid dubstep or the like
just imaginary lines that mean different stuff to different people

@Mapledelux - thanks!! :)

@fractal - I couldn't agree more, was being cheeky. Though my post count might not indicate it, rest assured I fall squarely into the category of people who spend waaaaay to much time on DSF :corndance:

I say this because its become the new gansta rap/punk for the teens,
its music that makes ya feel rebellious from just listening to it!

i like everything from shuffled out percussion, ambient hits--->
the blastbeat metal rhythms.

heavy rollers for when im chilled, then mad pyscho robotik wubs wen im hyped!

fuck tha moaning ciunts & lets skank/mosh it!

Do people really call stuff like Jakes/Coki/Kromestar/Lost/Aliens brostep?

Worrying if so, i'd just describe it as the more tearout side of dubstep.

NO, they call it DUBSTEP because it is DUBSTEP just as Excision, Datsik, Funtcase, etc are. :u:

i don't categorise them as 'brostep', their tracks still maintain musical integrity/soul/funk/are danceable... they still maintain a diversity in their productions and have not fallen into this formulaic boring arrangement most 'brostep' follows

No need to get all nutty pal, i said 'do people', not 'i call it' as they've been mentioned in this thread so far.

I think people with dance/dnb/jungle etc. (electronic music) in their history gravitate more to the "basic" dubstep style which totally makes sense. for me, i never could stand listening to electronic music or whatever because it gets so fucking boring hearing the same riff repeated OVER AND OVER. and no offence but you guys can really carry that on with your dubstep. whenever i listen to europe based dubstep radio station i sit there and listen to the same damn vocal sample and wobble line being repeated for 6:00 while some dj cuts out the music and says things like "aund heyas anubber massive chune from blah blah".... dubstep appealed to me (the kind of dubstep tons of dsf users CONSTANTLY diss) because it wasnt boring, it was original, it was gritty, it was bassy, and it literally made me feel happy. The first song i ever heard which made me fall in love with dubstep was Mt Eden - sierra leone (it was suggested on youtube. lol) Ive heard tons of people saying he is a total douche but i don't really think that matters. if his music can induce happiness, it should. not. fucking. matter.
I think it really depends on your roots. So to me Bro step is a way you can gain a following for dubstep because of people like me that get into it FOR the robot farts and eventually ease into the stuff you guys think is the shit. like that pamaladamala guy.
