out of the samples? to the point which they are un-recognizable? I always love doing that
btw this is my first time entering and i am very new to dubstep...and plz answer question ^^
Isn't that the whole point of a sample comp? If you just throw the samples together as is, there's not a lot of skill involved.
oh i get it
i thought this was about the use of the samples and the sequencing...in that case, i am definitely going to try this
Make sure you keep track of how you made all the sounds though. In case some haters don't believe you that you got them from the samples.
alright. already got some pretty weird sounds coming out of this.
EDIT: Would you believe that this sound came from the "Processed Kick" sample? And is this sound good?

Every single fuckin' time there's always a few incidents of folks blatantly not reading the rules... every single fucking time. You can set your watch by it.

Im confused about how we're allowed to manipulate stuff. Would I be allowed to sample stuff into the EXS24 and go from there?

I think I might step in and try my first one of these. Looked at this forum for a while but only just joined and may as well throw myself in at the deep end!

Yes, provided all you're doing is rinsing the sounds w/ the sampler and not doing granular re-synthesis or something.

i found a loophole in the rules of the contest (although i didnt use it)
since you supplied a sine wave for sub bass and sytrus can load custom waveforms and fm synthesis is usually made with a sine wave...you can load the sine wave into sytrus and do whatever fm you wana do...and its not synthesizing a new sound since its just modulating the frequency of the sine wave...just giving that out for the people who cant get decent sounds from other methods of editing the sounds from the kit
