This is so inspiring :) so what he did was just make massive patches, resample and add distortion.
Really?
Have you not read anything on this board?
There are thousands of threads related to resynthesizing bass samples and adding distortion.
:u: :u:
I have read lots of the resamling, bass and synthesis threads on here yes. They are great, why?
I think the video was inspiring because of the things he said (not the bass stuff).
Then I wrote down what he said about bass.
I didn't say it was new or anything, you know. I just wrote it down. Didn't think much about it.

Honestly guys.... I don't think anyone knows how to make his bases :u:

Let me explain my side to this. Have you seen anyone get close to datsik or excision bass? Is there a thread with people constantly posting there own "datsik" bass.

We, for the majority of us know how and what to resample but it's not a commonality like the Reese or growl which in simple context relie on detuned saws or fm synthesis.

I have read tons and tons of threads on these subjects and I I'm not even close. Read that so called thread were datsik himself agreed to the explanation and some Reese stuff on DOA.

I'm not fan boying or whatever but these bases are unique in a sense. Sure these artist arent music composers but have invented a new sound in away.

You don't hear a song with baselines like these guys but often hear in nureohop the twist bounce Reese and in brostep the growl and lead stab repeated and washed down routine...

Just my two sense....

Also why does everyone think every single new poster that comes to the forum ask about making dem datsik and skrilly bass m5. Honestly how bad is it? When was the last time you saw someone post these kind of questions? Not often.

I liked reading stuff on the forum posted in 2012 and when everyone helped each other with deconstruction and learning different synthesis on different sounds but now it's the same response oh it's just low pass filter and distortion, etc

No one goes to the sound design forum anymore and it's sad... This was the first place I got all my knowledge on making some useful sounds instead of watching pathetic YouTube videos with some shitty massive patch.

Ok I'm done guys :corndance:

I think it's stupid how everyone puts so much importance on tempo, like it's hard making music at 140 when it isn't hard at 110?

Id have to admit it... was pretty close but that is more of fm8 modualtion than what datsik and excision use. He himself said he uses massive mostly. Throws a performer, whatever wave table, some phase and ring modulation. Automate some of the wave table settings and such. I can make pretty sick growls and basses with tons of stuff like that but my resampling is terrible. Always get same results. 3 distant tones from low mid and highs not that squished and rounded like datsiks.
