not canada, unless you count bieber, celine dion and nickleback
I don't think anyone considers us a world power, ourselves included. Although, once everyone needs fresh water supplies, we will rise... :corntard:

i don't hear much music come out of germany either....or china, or india, or russia etc

am sure they all have huge pop stars of their own though, doubt english speaking artists are all that popular in a lot of those places

you're not up on China and their views on internet usage are you?

in india they were a wee bit behind but they still had american music in certain clubs.

China gets a lot of shit from Japan, Hong Kong, etc. My sister went to the olympics and said a lot of the youth there is very big on american hip hop.

You've mistaken the dance music world for being popular worldwide.

I didn't say it was popular, I said that you were misrepresenting its popularity and there's a difference.

releasing something in another country doesn't mean it's popular

american folk release on uk labels in our scene daily... doesnt mean they're popular

UK folks release via US labels/distro doesn't mean they're popular

You're trying to say "THIS EXISTS IT IS POPULAR"... no it means a niche label signed a niche artist for their niche fanbase.

You would know these things if you actually got out and saw the world

PS: That was released a decade ago bruv

when did I say it was popular? you were suggesting that noone in the orient listens to UK bass music.

popularity is the most arbitrary way to judge music in a highly commercialised society.

p.s. that's completely irrelevant, biggie's been dead for 14 years. if you don't rate wookie I don't wanna continue this discussion anyway.

love wookie

i was suggesting that the worldwide influence of UK artists vs US artists isn't even close, and anyone arguing otherwise is just flag waving

6x less?

less for pop music, but probably not for electronic stuff....and even so, probably not 6x less?

us population is about 6x bigger then the uk....also you are living in the us, so are likely to see news items of us bands touring china etc, might make you think they are more popular around the world than they actually are.

im not posting anything anti US, just arguing the point that for a country with a sixth of the population of the US, the UK isn't doing too badly for music

Actually, no bombing required! I heard that Harper is in talks with Obama, apparently he's willing to sell Canada to the States for an iPad 2...

Luckily for you guys Harper is dumb as fuck. Hand him an iPad 1 and call it an iPad 2 and he'll probably include his wife and kids in the deal as well....
